White Evangelicals are as Execrable as Their Orange Messiah, Donald Trump

“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.

Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.”

Exodus 20: 3 & 4

Anything a Christian places before God, whether it’s something material, a philosophy or a human being is an idol.

Admiring a human being isn’t a sin, there are many individuals worthy of admiration: who doesn’t admire the intelligence of Albert Einstein, the, the physical prowess of Lebron James, the courage of Martin Luther King Jr., and the integrity and eloquence of Abraham Lincoln?

But the most admirable human being in the world falls far short of the perfection of God, and a believer must never ascribe the qualities of deity to any man or woman.

White evangelicals are guilty of the sin of idolatry, they have elevated the physically and morally repulsive Donald Trump to the level of a deity. Evangelist Franklin Graham compared House Republicans who voted for Trump’s impeachment to Jesus’ betrayer, Judas Iscariot. Pastor John MacArthur proclaimed that true believers had to vote for him. Donald Trump, not Jesus Christ, is the Messiah that evangelicals worship.

They accept every utterance that emanates from Trump’s sphincter-shaped mouth as the Gospel, and they take umbrage at anyone who ridicules or criticizes his vain babbling.

You will become like the person you worship. White evangelicals have become as racist, misogynist, homophobic, vindictive, xenophobic and just plain evil as their Orange Messiah.

History will judge Donald Trump and his evangelical followers as one of the greatest threats ever posed to our secular democracy.

Most White Evangelicals Wish America Was a Christian Centric Nation

“The researchers at the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) just released their 2021 American Values Survey. There’s a lot of information in the full report, but one chart in particular deserves a closer look.

The question basically asked people if they would rather live in a pluralistic nation… or a predominantly Christian one. And only 13% of white evangelicals longed for a pluralistic country. 57% of them wanted to live in a mostly Christian bubble.”

Hemant Mehta

Christian nationalism is the belief in the notion that America was founding on Biblical principles and that the federal government should take active steps to preserve its Christian character.

Many white evangelicals are Christian nationalists and they want to transform the Republican Party into a Religious Party and convert our democracy into a theocracy.

The strength of America is our religious, cultural, and ethnic diversity, but the pluralistic nature of our democracy is anathema to evangelicals. They live in a mostly Christian bubble: they stream PureFlex instead of Netflix, get their news from Fox News and Newsmax instead of ABC News and CNN, and denounce science and facts and extol religious myths and fanciful conspiracy theories.

Their main dogma is the belief that Donald Trump is the Messiah the Almighty has anointed to establish a theocracy. One man’s utopia is another man’s dystopia, and I am determined to expose the racism, misogyny, homophobia and extremism of the American evangelical movement.

I will burst their Christian bubble and ensure that their vision of Cristian nationalism will never become a reality.

Trump is the Messiah Evangelicals Deserve

Evangelicals emphasize the born again experience as fundamentally necessary to be a member in good standing of their community. If you don’t claim Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior you will never become a member of their tribe.

It’s a common practice in church services and youth groups for new converts to share their testimony of how they came to Jesus. New believers tend to embellish their sinful past, because the more dramatic their testimony the more warmly they will be welcomed to the fold. Evangelicals love to hear a testimony of how a person who was in the depths of depravity found forgiveness and grace in Jesus Christ.

It’s de rigueur for an evangelist holding a revival crusade to share his testimony, usually on the last day. Nothing short of a Paul’s epiphany on the road to Damascus or a Prodigal Son experience will satisfy the congregation.

If the thrice married, serial philander, pathological liar, and braggadocios former casino owner Donald Trump repented of his sins, and accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior it’s understandable if he was embraced by evangelicals

Trump hasn’t repented of his sins, every day he finds new and innovative ways of breaking The Ten Commandments. He’s never claimed to be a born-again Christian and he only attends church on Easter and Christmas. The short-fingered vulgarian said he’s never sought forgiveness for his sins; I can’t imagine him prostrating himself before the Almighty.

Nevertheless, not only has Trump been enthusiastically received by evangelicals, but he’s been treated as the Anointed One who will Make America Great Again.

This paradox illustrates the truth that evangelicals care more about their political objectives than they do about their mission to evangelize the world. Trump’s adherence to Republican orthodoxy (pro-life, anti-immigrant, strong military, anti-gay) covers his myriad sins.

After 5 Decades Pat Robertson Retires as Host of The 700 Club! Good Riddance!

“Pat Robertson, famed televangelist and founder of the Christian Broadcasting Network, has stepped down as host of the long-running Christian talk show ‘The 700 Club.’

The 91-year-old announced his departure during Friday’s edition of the series, telling audiences that the episode would be his last and that his son and current CEO of the network, Gordon, will take over as host.”

CNN

The 700 Club which airs on weekdays spews enough racism, misogyny, and homophobia to keep trigger-happy evangelicals primed to fight godless liberals, socialist Democrats and limp-wristed homosexuals.

The abominable program, initially named for its goal of recruiting 700 members whose pledges would keep the founding station afloat financially has metastasized into a worldwide ministry reaching millions with its toxic message.

For over fifty years the 700 Club afforded Pat Robertson a platform to poison Christianity and the culture at large. The 91-year-old televangelist doesn’t have enough time left to begin to undo the indelible damage he has done to the evangelical brand, the Republican Party, and to the millions of religious of Muslims, gays and lesbians, and immigrants that he has demonized and marginalized.

In his prime Robertson was right out of central casting: handsome, vibrant and articulate, but now the nonagenarian looks as physically revolting as his evil spirit.

In the 70’s Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell aligned their evangelical movement with the Republican Party, and in 1988 Robertson ran for president as a Republican. He made a respectable showing, but he didn’t win and he set the stage for Donald Trump.

The evil that men do lives after them, and hopefully it won’t be 50 years before we manage to destroy Trumpism and the evangelical movement.

More White Christians Adopted Than Shed Evangelical Label During Trump Presidency

“According to analysis released Wednesday, more Americans started identifying as born-again or evangelical Protestants between 2016 and 2020 than stopped calling themselves evangelicals. The boost came almost entirely from white Trump supporters.

Among those who didn’t consider themselves evangelicals when the former president was elected, nearly 1 in 6 had begun identifying as evangelicals by 2020. Just 1 percent of white Americans who did not favor Trump made the same switch.”

ChristianityToday.Com

White evangelicals supported Donald Trump in overwhelming numbers is 2016, and after four years of his regime’s racism, misogyny, homophobia, authoritarian tendencies and amorality they again enthusiastically supported him in 2020, instead of deserting him in shock at his betrayal of Christian ideals.

Proving that evangelicals main imperative isn’t to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ, but to set up a Christian theocracy that codifies their anti-immigrant, anti-Muslim, anti-choice Neanderthal ideology.

White evangelicals promiscuous embrace of Trump and Trumpism has forever stained the evangelical brand in the minds of democracy-loving Americans, religious and non-religious alike.

But the label hasn’t lost its allure to white evangelicals, in fact, they are prouder than ever to identify as evangelicals, they’re cognizant that the evangelical brand signals to the world that they are Trump-supporting, anti-science conspiracy theorists who are seeking to abolish democracy and establish a Christian theocracy.

Evangelicals are as much a threat to democracy and true Christianity as Nazis, and it’s incumbent upon us to fight them with the same vigor that we do white supremacists.

Evangelicals Are Proselytizers Seeking Converts to Their Neanderthal Religion

“The term evangelical derives from the Greek word euangelion meaning ‘gospel’ or ‘good news.’ Technically speaking, evangelical refers to a person, church, or organization that is committed to the Christian gospel message that Jesus Christ is the savior of humanity.”

The Atlantic

An evangelical is a Christian who evangelizes, or preaches the Good News that Jesus saves. An evangelical is a proselytizer, or a true believer who seeks to induce everyone to convert to his faith.

Trump-supporting, anti-science, anti-immigrant and homophobic Christian evangelicals have made the word “evangelicals” a pejorative. Perhaps we should call them proselytizers, a word with an even worse connotation.

Evangelical charity springs from an evil motivation, it usually comes with strings attached:

If you are homeless, we will provide you with a bowl of soup and a bed for the night, but first you must listen to a Gospel sermon.

If you can’t feed your family, we will give you access to our food pantry, but first you must read a Gospel tract.

I’ve met multitudes of evangelicals who feel sorry for the poor, sick and hungry, but very few who empathize with them.

The unconverted aren’t nameless, soulless sinners in need of salvation, they are fellow human beings trying to make sense of a senseless world.

Evangelicals make friends with “sinners” not because they understand the value of befriending someone with a different worldview, but because they seek to convert them.

I wonder just how many converts they’re making these days, when their racism, bigotry, homophobia, misogyny and support for the amoral Donald Trump is contradicting their message of the love of Jesus Christ.

Whether you call them evangelicals, proselytizers or Neanderthals, all I know is that they are the enemies of true Christianity.

Russia Declares 4 Evangelical Groups ‘Undesirable’, Why Can’t America Declare All Evangelical Groups Undesirable?

“Russia’s justice ministry has put four Evangelical organizations from Latvia and Ukraine on its list of undesirable non-government organizations. The ministry’s list of undesirable non-government organizations contains 46 organizations. The activities of the four organizations were deemed undesirable by the Russian Prosecutor General’s Office on August 23 as threatening Russia’s constitutional order and security.

”TASS Russian News Agency

I lament the lack of religious freedom in Russia, and I cherish the freedom to worship that’s enshrined in our Constitution, but a small part of me wishes most of the evangelical organizations in America were declared undesirable non-government agencies.

The Russian government contends that the New Generation International Christian Movement, the New Generation Evangelical Christian Church, the New Generation Spiritual Directorate of the Evangelist Christians, and the New Generation International Biblical College pose a threat to Russia’s constitutional order and security.

The Russian government’s designation of “an undesirable non-government agency” means that these evangelical entities must close up their existing offices or face criminal penalties. My guess is that the only threat these evangelical organizations pose is to Putin’s totalitarian rule, but America’s evangelical organizations pose an existential threat to our constitutional order and security.

Most white evangelical churches pose a serious threat to the safety and security of Americans, because they refuse to mask up, socially distance and get vaccinated. They pose a real threat to our environmental health by denying the science of climate change. They pose an existential threat to our democracy by supporting the authoritarian Donald Trump and by advocating that he be restored to power by a military coup or an insurrection.

I don’t think the leaders of evangelical ministries should be imprisoned or face criminal penalties, but their tax-exempt status should be lifted and they should be treated like the enemies of true Christianity and democracy.

95% of Evangelical Leaders are Vaccinated, But Most Refuse to Encourage Their Followers to Get Vaccinated

According to a new survey from the National Association of Evangelicals almost all white evangelical leaders are vaccinated or plan to be vaccinated against COVID-19, and many of these evangelical ministers preside over churches where the congregants are anti-vaxxers.

These fearless men of God are too afraid to encourage their followers to get vaccinated, and they allow false conspiracy theories denying the efficacy of the vaccine to fester in their churches.

Most of these evangelical mega churches are in the Bible Belt where virus rates are surging, and where ignorant Bible thumpers need to hear the Good News that vaccines work.

This manifest hypocrisy of white evangelicals leaders regarding COVID vaccines makes me wonder in what other aspects of their faith they are hypocrites.

I wonder how many evangelical ministers who rail against sodomy from the pulpit are engaging in homosexual acts in motels. I wonder how many televangelists who preach against porn from their pulpits are watching Pornhub.com in their laptops? I wonder how many pastors who thunder from the pulpit that the Bible is the inspired and infallible Word of God, are secretly amazed how their followers can rely on Scripture as the ultimate moral authority when it endorses slavery and genocide?

I wonder at the extent of hypocrisy in the evangelical movement, is it so pervasive that it makes their faith meaningless?

Anti-LGBTQ Bigotry in Evangelical Churches Driving Away Young Christians

According to the Public Religion Research Institute the number of Americans who identify as white evangelicals has declined dramatically, from 23% in 2006 to 14.5% in 2020.

Younger evangelicals in particular are leaving the faith of their fathers, because they just can’t abide their antiquated attitude toward the LGBTQ community.

There’s a dichotomy between evangelical ministers who rail against “sodomites” from the pulpit, and the millennials in their congregations who accept gays and lesbians as equal members of society and as children of God.

The Jehovah of the Old Testament may have considered gays and lesbians worthy of death, but the Jesus of the Gospels never even mentioned homosexuality. Younger evangelicals are more likely to adopt the laissez-faire of Jesus toward gays and other social outcasts than the judgmental attitude of Jehovah.

Truth be told, the Bible condemns homosexuality but it also condones slavery and genocide. Christians should exercise discernment and wisdom in how they view the Bible, it’s inspired text meant to be interpreted judiciously not a universal penal code meant to be adhered to slavishly.

To Preserve Democracy We Must Defeat the GOP and White Evangelicals

The priorities of white evangelicals are ending abortion, opposing vaccines, protecting 2nd amendment rights, limiting the reach and authority of the federal government, restricting immigration, denying climate change, crusading against critical race theory and demonizing the LGBTQ community.

The aforementioned priorities of white evangelicals are the same as the policy preferences and principles of the Republican Party, so it’s not surprising that over 80 percent of Republicans voted to reelect Donald Trump.

The subjects that evangelicals are enthralled with have nothing to do with answering the existential questions that religion is supposed to answer: what is the meaning of life, how can I be a moral person, how can I best serve my community, what does God expect of us …

When the mission statements of a political party and a religious movement are almost identical there is something rotten in Denmark.

A religion is supposed to think in terms of the eternal, whereas politics is concerned with the current news cycle. A spiritual person expects the rewards of fealty to his faith to be peace of mind, love for his fellow man and a sense of unity with the divine. A politician expects the rewards of loyalty to his party to be temporal power and influence.

White evangelicals and Republicans have the same objectives: the subjugation of religious, racial and political minorities, and by any means necessary keeping the white power structure intact.

Striving to form a more perfect union means being cognizant of the existential threats to democracy: authoritarian political parties and intolerant religious groups that seek to impose their religious views on citizens.

White evangelicals and the Trumpian Republican Party are anathema to democracy.

The Media Should Acknowledge That Evangelicals Pose an Existential Threat to Democracy

“Over the weekend, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch editorial board penned a scathing indictment of evangelical preachers who told their followers to view former President Donald Trump’s potential victory in the 2020 election through the lens of Biblical prophecy — and thus making them blind to the reality of Trump’s loss.

‘Editorially, we try to avoid opining about religious faith,’ wrote the board. ‘But invoking divine guidance to advance partisan causes smacks of the worst kind of manipulation, opening the door to abuse and financial exploitation. Pentecostal and charismatic Christian leaders have laudably begun insisting that the false prophets among them cease and desist.’”

The Raw Story

Religion shouldn’t be immune from criticism and mockery by the media, educators, scientists and responsible citizens, especially when faith groups intertwine their dogma with politics.

Evangelicalism and the Republican Party are synonymous, it’s almost an article of faith for white evangelicals to align themselves with the GOP.

I applaud the St. Louis Post-Dispatch for not treating religion like a sacred cow and lambasting evangelical prophets for telling their followers that God anointed Trump as the leader who will lead our nation to righteousness and that he would win reelection.

Eight months after the election many white evangelicals refuse to accept reality and acknowledge that Joe Biden won and Donald Trump lost, they believe that men and women of faith will proclaim that their Orange Messiah is the real president.

Why haven’t other newspapers and other news media platforms condemned evangelical ministers for using religion as a cover to support Trump and his anti-immigrant, homophobic, misogynist and undemocratic policies?

Organized religion is the biggest obstacle to achieving world peace, democracy and defeating racism and climate change, and it’s incumbent upon the media to recognize religion as the enemy.

Trump Has Destroyed the GOP and the Evangelical Movement

It’s axiomatic that former president Donald Trump has taken over the Republican Party, even mainstream establishment Republicans pay homage to him.

Only a handful of congressional Republicans like Sen. Mitt Romney, Sen. Lisa Murkowski, Rep. Liz Cheney and Rep. Adam Kinzinger refuse to bend the knee to the orange messiah, and they are determined to save their party from Trumpism.

Any Republican who doesn’t demonstrate unquestioned loyalty to Trump is treated like an apostate. Witness the sad example of Mike Pence, for four years his mouth was permanently affixed to his boss’s rear end, but his act of betrayal on January 6 – refusing to oppose the Electoral College votes that certified President Joe Biden’s victory – is the unpardonable sin for which there is no forgiveness in every future election.

Trump has not only taken over the GOP, he has taken over the white evangelical movement as well. Trump is the Dear Leader of the Republican Party and the Messiah of white evangelicals.

White evangelicals have adopted the temperament of Trump, and they are consumed with hating their enemies instead of loving their neighbors.

The truth that white evangelicals cherish more than any other is belief in the Big Lie that the election was stolen from their cult leader. When their delusion that Trump will be reinstated soon doesn’t pan out, I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that some of the most devout among them might launch a violent crusade to restore their messiah to power.

Trump had done indelible harm to the Republican Party and the Evangelical movement, and I doubt that either organization will survive in the long run as a direct consequence of their infatuation with him.

White Evangelicals Are In Decline

“On Thursday, Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) released startling new polling data showing just how much ground the religious right has lost. PRRI’s 2020 Census of American Religion, based on a survey of nearly half a million people, shows a precipitous decline in the share of the population identifying as white evangelical, from 23% in 2006 to 14.5% last year. In 2020, as in every year since 2013, the largest religious group in the United States was the religiously unaffiliated.”

Chattanooga Times Free Press

Organized religion is the enemy of science, enlightenment, women’s rights, human rights and it’s the biggest obstacle to achieving peace and harmony on a global scale.

Therefore, I am encouraged by the fact that the largest religious group in the United States is the religiously unaffiliated. These so-called “nones” who answer “none of the above” on religious identification surveys aren’t necessarily agnostic or atheist, they simply believe that you can be a spiritual being without belonging to any religious organization.

As Lord Acton famously expressed it, “power tends to corrupt and absolute power corrupts absolutely.” Mega evangelical churches where the pastor has almost total control over his/her congregation are almost totally corrupt, and it’s almost impossible for a parishioner to be a loving Christian when all the church leaders are preaching a message of intolerance, racism and hatred.

Another piece of good news is that there are more white mainline Protestants than white evangelicals. Fundamentalists and evangelicals garner all the headlines because they have a penchant for railing against gays, immigrants and climate change, while mainline Protestants attend church on Sundays and behave like good law-abiding citizens the rest of the week.

White evangelicals are the oldest religious group in the United States, with a median age of 56. These Neanderthals are dying out, but they aren’t going quietly into the night, they are exiting the stage screaming and gnashing their teeth.

Don’t despair my friends, white evangelicals aren’t going to inherit the Earth, they and other organized religions are in the rear view mirror.

Evangelicals Are a Greater Threat to Democracy Than the Pandemic

Evangelicals have a tenuous relationship empirical facts, truth, science and reality itself. Anything that conflicts with their narrow interpretation of the Bible is anathema. Their motto is: the Bible says, I believe it, don’t confuse me with facts.

Evangelicals mistrust academia, science and any other institution that threatens their fundamentalist interpretation of scripture. It’s no surprise that most evangelicals don’t believe in climate change or the efficacy of vaccines.

Evangelical anti-vaxxers are militant, some would say evangelical, in their opposition to the COVID vaccines. They try to convert everyone to their Neanderthal views on vaccines in general, and the COVID vaccines in particular.

Now that the highly contagious delta variant has become the most common variant in the United States it’s imperative that the media, educators, medical professionals and social influencers emphasis the reality that the pandemic isn’t over and that the best way to defeat it by getting vaccinated.

Brian Kaylor argues that the delta variant should be dubbed the “evangelical variant” because of their penchant for refusing to be vaccinated.

I would argue that evangelicals are the disease that is infecting Christianity, the social order and democracy itself. Evangelicalism is as much an existential threat as the pandemic.

Fight stupidity, ignorance and the religious tomfoolery and the pandemic and get vaccinated.

The Evangelical Movement is a Shit Show of Biblical Proportions

In an MSNBC segment discussing the evangelical movement Peter Wehner, who served in various roles in the three Republican administrations before the Trump administration, described the effect of wild conspiracy theories as turning evangelical Christianity into a “moral freak show.”

In the relative halcyon days of American evangelicalism at a church service the polyester-clad pastor would deliver a fire and brimstone sermon, and the congregation would beatifically smile in the smug awareness that an angry God would spare them from the eternal torment reserved for the heathen. Evangelicals would leave church hating the sin but condescendingly loving the sinner.

Decades ago, evangelical ministers railed against generic sinners, but now they spew their hatred against specific classes of sinners: gays and lesbians, transgender people, feminists, Democrats, evolutionists, scientists, immigrants, university professors …

Evangelicals have always believed in the miracles of the Bible including the parting of the Red Sea, Jesus walking on water, and the worldwide flood, but now they also believe in crazy conspiracy theories that have no biblical basis.

In recent decades white evangelicals have for the most part aligned with the Republican party, but now they consider being a Republican an article of faith and they demonize Democrats.

Peter Wehner is being generous in his description of evangelical Christianity, it’s a shit show of biblical proportions. How else can you describe a religious movement that elevates an amoral, egotistical con artist billionaire to the stature of a messiah figure. Attending a church service where the minister preaches that the COVID vaccine is the Mark of the Beast, and that the election was stolen from Donald Trump but that the Almighty will reinstate him in a few weeks is akin to attending a religious sideshow carnival.

The evangelical movement is a dung pile whose stench reaches to the heavens, believe me I’m giving these wretched people a wide berth.

Evangelicals Believe Book of Revelation Teaches Trump is a Messiah Figure and All Sorts of Nonsense

“An apocalypse is a literary report of an amazing, often fearful, violent vision that reveals truths about past, present, and/or future times in highly symbolic and poetical terms. The writer may represent himself as being transported into a heavenly realm, or the vision may be unveiled—and even interpreted—by an angelic messenger. Apocalyptic exhortations are aimed at chastening and reforming their hearers with promises of rewards and punishment in the coming end times.”

New World Encyclopedia

In Apocalyptic literature dragons and monsters, angels and demons are prominently featured, and the writer takes the reader on a roller coaster ride from the heavenly realms to a dystopian future to the seven circles of hell.

The last book of the Bible, the Book of Revelation is a prime example of apocryphal literature, and even the most erudite theologian on LSD finds it difficult to discern more than the basic fact that it teaches that good will prevail over evil in the end.

But that doesn’t stop evangelical prophets and televangelists from proclaiming that the Book of Revelations reveals all sorts of fantastic events that will take place in the End Times: The Rapture of the Church, the rise of an Antichrist, the Mark of the Beast and on and on ad infinitum.

Evangelical ministers can convince their followers to believe in all sorts of nonsense as long as they claim that’s what the Book of Revelation teaches. I’ve heard several evangelical ministers claim that the COVID vaccine is the Mark of the Beast, and as a result hundred of thousands of evangelicals are afraid to be vaccinated.

The Book of Revelation is a first century genre of literature that as the title suggests, is meant to reveal spiritual truths, but it was never intended to be a roadmap of the future.

So, if you hear a televangelist rant about the COVID vaccine being the Mark of the Beast or that the Book of Revelation teaches that Trump is a messiah figure who will rescue thousands of children from the hands of pedophiles, turn that shit off.

Why Do Evangelicals Hate ‘Pride Month’ So Much?

“Christian hate-peddler Tony Perkins of the Family Research Council, who admitted last month that Christian warriors were ‘trying to take over the world,’ is now offering life tips to Christians on how to survive Pride Month.

In addition to his tips, though, he complained about why they were needed at all:

‘How did we get to the point where celebrating sex and transgenderism became a 30-day event that rivals Christmas. We have a president who’s flying the rainbow flag above the U.S. flag at our embassies, a Democratic Congress that thinks the military should salute pride on base, and a White House that brags that almost 1 percent of its 1,500 appointees are LGBT. You can’t blame people for wondering: When did we become identified by our sexual proclivities? The world is upside down when American pride is something we should apologize, for but sexual perversion is the stuff of parades.’”

Friendly Atheist

What an ethnically, politically and religiously diverse America needs are life tips on how to survive the assault of white evangelicals on religious, ethnic, and sexual minorities. Broadcast TV, Cable TV, and the internet are littered with religious programming that demeans and demonizes the LGBTQ community.

Homophobe Tony Perkins laments the fact that an entire month is set aside to celebrate the LGBTQ community and their contributions to making America the greatest democracy in the world. Bitch please, after centuries of oppression, persecution and pogroms against gay people, the least we can do is set aside a month to revel in their awesomeness.

Evangelicals like Perkins never grow weary of peddling the trope that homosexuality is synonymous with sexual perversion. Taking pride in loving a person of the same gender isn’t a perversion, it’s an expression of freedom and acceptance.

The world is upside down when hatemongers are given a platform to preach their evil Gospel of misogyny, homophobia and racism. Perkins and his ilk are on the wrong side of history, but little by little we are turning things around and making America a more inclusive, democratic and loving country.

White Evangelicals Rejoice Whenever Violence Breaks Out Between Israelis and Palestinians

A few weeks ago, when the Middle East tinderbox predictably once again exploded into open warfare between Israel and Hamas, people of all faiths around the world were horrified by the tribal and religious violence.

But not everybody was shocked by the thousands of rockets fired by Hamas militants into civilian population centers or by the disproportionate Israeli air strikes that devastated the impoverished Gaza Strip.

Millions of people in the United States rejoiced at the obscene display of violence, and it wasn’t anarchists or Satanists who welcomed the bloodshed.

White evangelicals who ostensibly are followers of Jesus Christ the Prince of Peace welcomed the violence.

Evangelical pastor John Hagee, founder of Christians United for Israel, basked in orgiastic glee at the violence in the Middle East. “The rapture of the church is imminent” he thundered “If you’re not ready, get ready, because we’re getting ready to leave this world.”

Evangelicals are unmoved and unconcerned by the cyclical explosions of violence in the Middle East, every time Israel and the Palestinians go to war they pray and hope that it will usher the Rapture of the Church.

Violence in the Holy Land is no reason to rejoice, and it doesn’t mean that Jesus Is going to rapture racist white evangelicals out of this world and meet them in the heavens.

Proof that the evangelical eschatology is misguided and unbiblical is that it leads them to rejoice every time war breaks out between Palestinians and Israelis.

Trump Will Never Be Reinstated and White Evangelicals Will Never Be Rehabilitated

Most Americans view Donald Trump as a demented demagogue who refuses to accept reality and admit that Joe Biden won in an electoral college and popular vote landslide. The twice-impeached former president believes he will be reinstated as commander-in-chief by August.

Trump in not alone in his delusional beliefs, about 35 percent of the electorate is convinced that their orange messiah will be restored to power before the next presidential election cycle in 2024.

Every time I see Trump deliver another disjointed and incoherent speech riddled with lies and conspiracy theories, I wonder how can anybody in his right mind believe that this clown who puts on his pants backwards and is too obstinate to change his diapers will be reinstated as president?

The answer is that white evangelicals and QAnon adherents aren’t in their right minds, and they really believe in the Big Lie and are persuaded that Trump will become president again in the near future.

Johnny Enlow a self-proclaimed evangelical prophet is one of these deluded fools; he believes that God will bless those who refuse to back down from their support for Trump.

Enlow uttered this nonsense:

“It’s not sufficient just to say, ‘Hey I worship God. I’m totally sold out to God or to Jesus. It’s been clearer than ever…. Who’s being advanced and blessed and ministries that are advancing and blessing and who I see in increased anointings, they’re seeing more favor, they’re seeing more revelatory, are people who didn’t back off Trump.”

It’s clear that Enlow and his white evangelical brethren worship the crass and amoral orange messiah and not the kind and loving Jesus of the Gospels.

Trump is leading his white evangelical followers to spiritual and political ruin. There’s no way in hell Trump will ever be reinstated and there’s no way the evangelical brand will ever be rehabilitated.

.

Dear God: Please Rapture the Hateful Evangelicals the Hell Out of Here

A century ago, “The Rapture of the Church” was an eschatological theological position held by few Christians, primarily American evangelicals. Today most American evangelicals believe in the Rapture, and even most secular Americans are familiar with the concept: Christians around the world will be taken up (raptured) into heaven prior to the unleashing of apocalyptic events culminating with the rise of the anti-Christ and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

I prefer a Christianity based on the teaching of Jesus Christ and without any Science Fiction/Disaster movie theatrics, but to each his own.

American white evangelicals are the most loathsome Christian movement on the face of the Earth, they stand for everything that is antithetical to the Gospel of Jesus Christ: racism, misogyny, homophobia, xenophobia, capitalism run amuck, baseless conspiracy theories, Trumpism …

Most of what evangelicals believe in is hogwash, but how I pray that there will really be a Rapture when the good Lord take up evangelicals into heaven. That may turn heaven into hell, but good riddance to bad rubbish.

On the other hand, without evangelicals America would be a democratic paradise: hate crimes and racism would plummet and Kumbaya would become the National Anthem.

Oh God, please, please rapture the evangelicals to kingdom come.

Swiss Evangelicals Reject COVID Certificate to Attend Worship Services

“The Swiss federal government plans to introduce a COVID-19 certificate by the summer, which would be compulsory in order to access places of worship in the country. A public consultation process is underway.

The Swiss Evangelical Alliance (SEA•RES) has rejected this measure, stating that “worship is an expression of our religious freedom to assemble and should not be regulated by identity checks of any kind.”

They point out in a statement that such regulation ‘would be disproportionate, as the evangelical churches have implemented other effective coronavirus protection measures from the outset.’”

CHVNRadio.Com

It’s not just American evangelicals who are anti-science, anti-government and anti-social, these vices also infect Swiss evangelicals.

Evangelicals believe that their faith in an omnipotent deity inoculates them from having to abide by COVID regulations that are put in place to protect the entire community. Their mantra is “Jesus is my Vaccine”, and not “Follow the Science” or “Do unto others …”

Swiss evangelicals have their panties in a twist over the plan of the Swiss federal government to introduce a COVID-19 certificate by the summer, which would be necessary to attend any place of worship in the country.

They are not categorically opposed to a “COVID Passport”, they feel it might be practical to reduce the risk of infection at rock concerts for example, but they feel that churches should be exempt.

Actually, evangelical churches are a hotter breeding ground for the coronavirus than a rock concert, especially if it’s an outdoor concert. Think of the rituals and practices that are common in evangelical churches: Hugging, holy kisses, laying on of hands, praising God in a loud voice, choirs singing, all excellent means of spreading the deadly virus.

I am so tired of the selfishness, intolerance, ignorance and un-Christian behavior of evangelicals, not only in America, but around the world.

It’s Time to Cancel White Evangelicals

Since the 70’s decades evangelicals have preferred the “Christian family values” of GOP candidates over the perceived secular values of Democrats, but in the Trump era it’s now an article of faith that evangelicals vote for the Republican party, and only apostates vote for Democrats.

It’s now axiomatic that white evangelicals are Republicans and Republicans are evangelicals. Evangelicals and Trumpism are synonymous, evangelicals have inextricably tied their reputation to the toxic Trump brand.

Evangelical Christians have ruined the reputation of all Christians, because nominal Christians, atheists and agnostics and people of other faiths don’t distinguish between evangelical Christians, mainline Protestants and Roman Catholics, and they will conclude that all Christians are racist, homophobic and misogynist.

It’s incumbent upon the minority of evangelicals who don’t worship the orange false messiah and mainline Protestants and Roman Catholics to denounce the racism, xenophobia, homophobia and misogyny of white evangelicals.

In fact, evangelicals who don’t support the unchristian, amoral and wannabe dictator Trump would be well-advised to stop identifying themselves as “evangelicals.”

The word “evangelical” is anathema, and every true Christian, person of other religions, and agnostics and atheists must make common cause in defeating the false Gospel of white evangelicals.

Franklin Graham: Trump is One of the Finest Christians

Franklin Graham: Donald Trump is one of the finest Christians I’ve ever had the privilege of knowing.

If this quote emanated from the Vatican or from the lips of any respected mainline Protestant minister, it would be shocking and disheartening.

But Graham is a white evangelical leader whose best friends and confidants are other white evangelical ministers, and we have become accustomed to evangelicals uttering outrageous and un-Christian statements.

Evangelicalism is synonymous with racism, misogyny, homophobia, xenophobia and authoritarianism, and it should come as no surprise that Graham proclaims that the racist, corrupt, petty and immoral Trump is a fine Christian.

Graham and his ilk wouldn’t recognize a fine Christian if they traveled back in time and witnessed Jesus healing the sick, feeding the hungry, and speaking words of peace and comfort.

Trump is a steaming pile of dung, but to his credit he’s never claimed to be an evangelical Christian. At best he’s a nominal Christian who attends church only on Easter and Christmas, and who has a penchant for holding the Bible upside down.

But in spite of the fact that Trump doesn’t claim to be an evangelical, white evangelicals worship Trump as a messiah figure because he appointed pro-life judges and he shares their antipathy toward gays and lesbians, immigrants and racial and religious minorities.

God: Franklin Graham is one of the worst Christians I’ve ever had the misfortune of creating and a primary reason why Christian theologians have a devil of a time proving I’m omniscient and omnipotent.

Evangelical ‘Prophet’ Robin Bullock Says It’s a Sin to Recognize Joe Biden as President

Self-proclaimed evangelical “prophet” Robin Bullock declared that it’s a sin to recognize Joe Biden as president and asserted that you cannot pray for “President Joe Biden because he doesn’t exist: You might as well pray for the Easter Bunny.”

Bullock wrongly prophesied that former President Donald Trump would win the 2020 presidential election. Old Testament prophets were expected to be right 100 percent of the time when they prophesied in Jehovah’s name, and a modern-day prophet who makes such a huge blunder like prophesying that Trump would win reelection should have no credibility or legitimacy.

But Bullock is still in good standing with white evangelicals because most of them concur with him that Trump won the election and is still the legitimate president of the United States.

Bullock isn’t an aberration or a heretic, like most white evangelicals he believes that his orange messiah won reelection and it’s only a matter of time until God restores him to power.

The values of evangelicals are upside down, they believe that it’s a sin to accept reality and recognize the decent Joe Biden as president and they demand that everyone recognize the evil, corrupt, racist wannabe dictator Trump as president.

Bullock and his ilk are on the wrong side of theology, democracy and history and they can prophesy their fool heads off all they want, but Joe Biden will be president until 2024.

Evangelicals Love Them Some Girl-on-Girl Porn

A research published by the Journal for the Scientific Study of Religion found that states with a higher percentage of evangelical Protestants or biblical literalists tended to have a higher proportion of Google searches for “porn.”

This should come as no surprise to anyone with even a nodding acquaintance with evangelicals, hypocrisy is an essential component of evangelicalism. The lure of our sex-saturated culture is impossible for evangelicals to resist, they loudly decry sexual sins while they indulge in adultery, pornography and every other sexual discretion in secret.

Evangelicals are the biggest consumers of online pornography; they are more familiar with PornHub.Com and YouPorn.Com than they are with the most popular evangelical websites. They are more likely to exclaim “Jesus” after climaxing to a porn video than they are to shout out the name of the Lord in response to a sermon from their pastor.

Girl-on-girl porn is by far the most popular genre of pornography with male and female consumers, and no doubt evangelicals who never miss an opportunity to demonize gays and lesbians love them some girl-on-girl action.

So when evangelicals warn you that adultery, same-sex sex and pornography are horrible sins, just ask them which they prefer PornHub.Com or YouPorn.Com and watch them slither away in shame and humiliation.
