White Evangelicals Least Likely Group to Get COVID-19 Vaccine

Vaccine hesitancy is epidemic in white evangelical circles, according to a recent survey only 54 percent of white evangelicals “definitely or probably” plan to get vaccinated.

This in due in large part because the unofficial pope of white evangelicals, Donald Trump, eschews mitigation efforts against COVID including social distancing, wearing masks and getting vaccinated. If Trump enthusiastically urged his followers to get vaccinated, they would line up to be vaccinated and they would consider the bandage covering the injection site an emblem of their faith in Jesus and his orange messiah, Donald Trump.

White evangelicals don’t get the vaccine because Trump doesn’t emphasize the importance of the vaccine, and Trump doesn’t emphasize the importance of the vaccine because he doesn’t want to lose the support of evangelicals, many of whom were anti-vaxxers long before the coronavirus pandemic. What a vicious circle of ignorance and moral cowardice.

There’s a long history of anti-science within American evangelicalism, their mantra is “Jesus is my vaccine”, not I trust in science to defeat the pandemic. It’s a badge of honor and a demonstration of their faith for evangelicals to refuse to be vaccinated.

According to a Pew research study only 48 percent of white evangelicals said they would consider the community health effects a lot when deciding to be vaccinated. In other words, evangelicals only care about their own tribe, and they are unconcerned and unfazed if their anti-vaccine stance results in a coronavirus breakout in their city.

Unfortunately, Trump didn’t get vaccinated in the glare of the cameras, and there’s no verse in the Bible that states, “You must be vaccinated”, therefore I have little faith white evangelicals will have an epiphany and get vaccinated for their own good and for the good of society.

Evangelical ‘Prophet’ Jeff Jansen Claims Military Will Reinstate Trump as President

A plethora of evangelical pastors and self-appointed prophets predicted that their false messiah Donald Trump would win reelection, claiming it was God’s will.

When that prophecy didn’t failed to materialize, a handful apologized and admitted they were wrong. Jeremiah Johnson was one of the most famous of these self-styled evangelical prophets who apologized for his false prophecy. His evangelical brethren showered him with death threats, and he ended up dismantling his prophetic ministry.

Evangelical ministers will never admit that their cherished false conspiracy theories are bullshit, even when confronted with science, empirical evidence and reality itself. That’s why most of these so-called prophets still insist Trump is the legitimate president and Joe Biden is an interloper who will soon be cast down by Almighty God.

Jeff Jansen, a self-proclaimed prophet believes that former president Donald Trump is still the legitimate president and that the military will remove Joe Biden from power. Jansen is urging his followers to keep the faith and trust that God will reinstate Trump to power by the end of April.

It would have made more sense had Jansen predicted April 1, 2021 as the day when Trump is reinstated as president, Jansen and his ilk are the biggest April Fools jokes.

Of course, April 30, 2021 will come and go, and Joe Biden will still be the president. If Old Testament prophets uttered a false prophecy they were stoned to death, but today’s evangelical prophets can make one false prophesy after another, without losing any of their gullible and ignorant followers.

America Must Destroy the White Evangelical Movement

America was founded as a constitutional republic with biblical principles codified in its constitution. In the early years of our democracy the ruling class didn’t see any inconsistency between their biblical values and the genocide of Native Americans and the enslavement of black people. They didn’t experience any dissonance going to church to praise God and then whipping their male slaves to encourage them to work harder and raping their female slaves.

Although America has had a high degree of secularization, evangelical Christianity still exerts an important influence on politics, especially on the Republican party.

Although the first Republican president, Abraham Lincoln, emancipated the slaves, there is still a strong streak of racism in the white evangelical movement. It’s no surprise that most of the white nationalists who stormed the Capitol in an ill-fated attempt to keep their white messiah in power self-identified as evangelicals.

Christian nationalism is undermining inclusiveness, pluralism and democracy itself, and in order to survive as a democracy we must recognize white evangelicals as an existential threat.

The white supremacist-in-chief has been defeated at the ballot box, but Trump-supporting evangelicals are still a threat and we must fight their religious extremism tooth and nail.

As a writer I will devote the rest of my life to exposing the racism, fascism, misogyny and homophobia of white evangelicals, and we must all use our gifts, resources and talents to destroy white evangelicalism in America.

Evangelicals Who Still Believe Trump Won Can Eat Shi* and Die

On Nov. 3, 2020, Trump campaign adviser Harlan Hill said he’d livestream himself eating his shoe if Joe Biden won the presidential election.

Don’t bother searching YouTube for a video of Hill eating his shoe, it doesn’t exist. When Mediate asked Hill if he planned to keep his word and eat his shoe, he answered, “Trump won.”

Hill wasn’t the only Republican politician who on Election Day and the weeks following insisted that Trump won, although they didn’t put their foot in their mouth by promising to eat a shoe if Biden won.

Thousands of evangelical ministers prophesied that Trump would win including Pat Robertson, Paula White-Cain, Greg Locke and Jeremiah Johnson. Only a handful have publicly apologized, any many still insist that Trump actually won.

The punishment specified for false prophets in the Old Testament was severe: “If any prophet dares to speak a message in My name that I have not commanded him to speak, or to speak in the name of other gods, that prophet must be put to death” (Deuteronomy 18:20).

I’m not as harsh as the Jehovah of the Old Testament but I do wish that clowns like Robertson and Locke who assured their followers that the Almighty Himself had told them that Trump was going to win would eat shit and die, or at least eat a pair of old sneakers.

Millions of QAnon cultists and evangelicals swallowed Trump’s Big Lie and still believe that Trump won and Joe Biden is an illegitimate president.

The Bible says that the devil is a liar and the father of lies. These Trump-supporting evangelicals have been deceived by one of the devil’s biggest lies, that Trump is a messiah figure who was cheated out of victory.

I don’t expect evangelicals to have an epiphany or to acknowledge reality by presenting them with facts and evidence, they are willfully blind. I simply write them off, only citizens who believe the truth and cherish the truth can join us who voted for Biden in building a more perfect union.

Evangelicals Who Support Trump are Anathema

It’s estimated that there are more than 30,000 Christian denominations worldwide, and more than 1,200 in the United States alone. There is no prevailing view of what it means to be a Christian. Most of these Christian organizations don’t embrace an ecumenical spirit, and they hold a very parochial opinion of who is a real Christian.

Whether a Christian believes in the divinity of Jesus Christ or not, and whether a Christian believes in the infallibility of scripture or not, everyone can agree that the most direct and accurate description of Jesus come from the Gospels.

The basic thesis of the Gospels, indeed of all the Bible, can be distilled into the Golden Rule, do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Jesus taught his disciples that the basic imperative of Scripture is to love God and to love their neighbors as themselves.

Jesus did not have one word to say about homosexuality or abortion, therefore when evangelical Christians call any Christian who believes in marriage equality and choice evil, they are speaking from their own ignorance and prejudice and not from the authority of the Bible.

Jesus’ ministry consisted of preaching the Gospel (that he was the promised Messiah) and ministering to the material and spiritual needs of social outcasts and marginalized communities. Therefore, when evangelicals neglect to tend to the physical needs of the poor and disenfranchised and instead demonize them, they aren’t exhibiting Christian behavior.

When evangelicals idolize a short-fingered vulgarian whose rhetoric, behavior and actions are the antithesis of the loving and peaceful Jesus of the Gospels we can deduce that their racism and resentment has taken them down a road that’s a long way from true Christianity.

You don’t have to be a theologian to deduce that evangelicals who support Trump are anathema.

To Hell With White Evangelicals and Their Sky Daddy

I saw “Sky Daddy” trending on Twitter, and as a self-appointed pop culture expert and a critic of organized religion I was surprised that I was unfamiliar with the term.

Sky Daddy is a somewhat offensive and definitely blasphemous term for God. Atheists, agnostics and enlightened believers apply this phrase to the deity worshiped by evangelical Christians.

Only a child would refer to his father as “daddy” and only evangelicals who take pride in their child-like faith believe in a Divine Being who must be cajoled and beseeched into granting their basic needs and greedy desires.

When a father warns his child not to disobey him, he might say: If you don’t stop teasing your little sister the Bogeyman is going to get you! Fundamentalist ministers warn their followers from giving in to the “sin” of sodomy by preaching that Jehovah will cast sodomites into the lake of fire.

White evangelicals deify Donald Trump because the authoritarian, capricious and vindictive Man Baby is so much like the infantile God they worship. They are afraid that if they don’t unconditionally support their false messiah, he will punish them with cruel tweets and banish them from the GOP (God’s Own Party).

Evangelicals should forsake the Sky Daddy of the Old Testament and follow the Jesus of the Gospels who ministered to the poor and disenfranchised and never even mentioned homosexuality. Jesus didn’t live in fear of Sky Daddy and he would have eviscerated a petty, vindictive buffoon like Donald Trump.

Satan Smiles on Trump’s MAGA Rallies

President Donald Trump’s MAGA rallies haven’t changed since 2015, four years of serving as commander-in-chief and Leader of the Free World hasn’t tempered his rhetoric, curbed his vindictiveness, or eradicated his racism.

A 2020 MAGA rally is almost indistinguishable from a 2015 rally, you still hear chants of “Lock Her Up!” and “Build the Wall”, and an atmosphere of racism and intolerance still looms over the congregation of true believers.

Trump is like a country evangelist with a grade school education, who shuns study and preparation and depends on the Holy Ghost to speak through him to compel sinners to come to Jesus.

Trump doesn’t prepare for his stump speeches and he doesn’t know the Holy Ghost from Casper the Friendly Ghost.  The former reality TV show host relies on his ego to energize and weaponize his supporters.

If an evangelist is exposed as a phony with a predilection for hookers and cocaine, all he has to do is put on a show of repentance and most of his followers will forgive him.

Trump has already been exposed as a phony many times over and he’s never repented or apologized, and he hasn’t lost any of his followers.

There will be no reset, epiphany or moment when Trump becomes presidential, he is who he is: an ignorant and vindictive racist. Indeed, Trump’s ignorance and racism are the reasons why he is so beloved by his white evangelical supporters.

It’s useless praying to the Almighty to smite this evildoer and his reprehensible white evangelical supporters. It won’t be an exorcist but millions of patriots and decent citizens who vote who will banish this demon to hell.

I Hate Trump and White Evangelical Christians

“The Democrats took the word GOD out of the Pledge of Allegiance at the Democrat National Convention. At first I thought they made a mistake, but it wasn’t. It was done on purpose. Remember Evangelical Christians, and ALL, this is where they are coming from-it’s done. Vote Nov 3!”

Donald Trump Tweet

“President Trump’s claim that the Democratic National Convention omitted the phrase ‘under God’ from the Pledge of Allegiance is misleading, according to Associated Press, Snopes, PolitiFact and Lead Stories. While the phrase was omitted from at least two recitations of the Pledge of Allegiance at individual caucus meetings during the DNC, the phrase was included during every recitation of the pledge before each night’s events.”

CNN

This is a typical Trump tweet, in that he lied outrageously and pandered to white evangelicals.

According to the Associated Press, Snopes, PolitiFact, CNN and every other news outlet, and not to mention the millions who saw the Democratic National Convention, the phrase “Under God” was not omitted from the recitations of the Pledge of Allegiance.

Although as a constitutional purist and strong believer in the separation of church and state, I wish it would have been omitted. Our democracy would be on a stronger footing if there weren’t so many hypocritical evangelical politicians invoking the name of God while they enact laws that benefit the wealthy and powerful, and harm the poor and disenfranchised.

In his toxic tweet Trump makes an explicit appeal for the votes of evangelical Christians, and the fact that he lied about the Democrats removing the phrase “Under God” from the pledge of allegiance, won’t diminish the love that they have for their false messiah. After all Trump has lied thousands of times during his tenure, and evangelicals consider his pathological deceit a charming and adorable quirk.

Trump can tell thousands of lies, cage undocumented children in cages, hold the Bible upside down in a photo-op and even kill someone in broad daylight on 5th avenue, and white evangelicals will still consider him the Second Coming of Christ.

White evangelicals are so obsessed with abortion and homosexuality that they are willfully blind to the sins of their sociopath messiah. Evangelicals have given Trump a dispensation to break the Ten Commandments every day, and twice on Sunday, as long as he continues to appoint pro-life judges and discriminate against gays and lesbians.

Remember evangelical Christians, indeed. For the love of God, I beseech voters to remember the godawful and loathsome evangelical Christians and their amoral false messiah. End the threat to true Christianity and democracy and kick Trump and his evangelical enablers to the curb this November.

The Infamous Pic of Jerry Falwell Jr With Pants Unzipped is a Perfect Representation of White Evangelicals

“Jerry Falwell Jr. posted and then quickly deleted a strange vacation photo, leaving some to question what was actually going on.

The photo, captured by Relevant Magazine, shows the Liberty University president on a yacht with his pants undone and his shirt hiked up. Next to him stands a young woman identified as a “friend” whose pants are similarly unzipped and Falwell was holding up her shirt to expose her abdomen. In his hand was a glass of dark liquid.

‘I promise that’s just black water in my glass. It was a prop only,’ the caption reads.”

The Raw Story

The famous 1930 painting by Grant Wood, American Gothic, depicts a farmer standing beside his daughter, their rigid postures and stern expressions could have represented how evangelicals were perceived in previous decades.

The now infamous Instagram photo of the married Jerry Falwell Jr. with his pants unbuckled embracing a young woman who’s not his wife whose short shorts are similarly unzipped represents white evangelical Christianity in the 21st century.

Evangelicals claim to believe in family values, God and country and they denounce and demonize Hollywood values, godless liberals and gays and lesbians. But the reality is that the pic of the inebriated Falwell is a faithful representation of white evangelicals. Indeed, the Bible Belt states are the biggest consumers of pornography, and I suspect that many evangelicals pleasured themselves while ogling the image of the hot young girl with her short shorts unzipped standing next to the distinguished president of the country’s largest evangelical university.

White evangelicals have shown their true colors, they have embraced Donald Trump, the thrice married chronic adulterer who bragged how he likes to grab women by the pussy. They not only support Trump, but they treat the short-fingered vulgarian as the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

White evangelicalism is a political movement disguised as a religious movement, and the racism, xenophobia, misogyny, and homophobia of Trump is more important to them than Biblical principles.

The next time a white evangelical brandishing a huge King James Bible preaches Jesus to you, just remember that the amoral Trump is the one they really worship.

Roger Stone Finds Jesus, Must be the Same Republican Jesus that Trump’s White Evangelical Supporters Worship

“President Donald Trump’s longtime friend and campaign adviser Roger Stone says he was never worried about going to prison.

Just days before he was set to begin serving a 40-month prison sentence after being convicted of lying to lawmakers who were investigating whether Russia influenced the 2016 elections, Trump commuted his sentence.

‘Praise be to God. I was never nervous or worried because I had prayed so fervently for deliverance from my persecutors and I knew in my heart that He would Protect me,’ he told me.”

JustTheNews.Com

Roger stone is the quintessential political trickster, his hardball political tactics, blind loyalty to his clients and unbridled glee at the success of his politics of personal destruction ensured that there would always be Republican candidates lined up to avail themselves of his services.

It’s a miracle that Stone’s Machiavellian politics and win at all costs mentality didn’t land him in prison, but he managed to avoid the Big House in his long career from working for Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan and George W Bush.

But it looked like working for Donald Trump, who makes Richard Nixon look like a Sunday School teacher, would finally get him imprisoned. Stone was facing prison time after being convicted of lying to Congress, witness tampering, and obstruction of justice.

Stone wasn’t worried about going to prison because in his own words:

“Praise be to God. I was never nervous or worried because I had prayed so fervently for deliverance from my persecutors and I knew in my heart that He would Protect me.”

Praise God Indeed, Stone knew that he would protect him, after all Trump had repeatedly hinted that he would pardon his loyal aide. I’m sure Stone who has a penchant for orgies prayed fervently to his false messiah to save him while clutching a rosary in one hand and a porn DVD in the other.

Stone claims to have given his life to Jesus some six months ago, and I suspect his “conversion” will have zero influence on the hardball and sometimes criminal ways he conducts business as a political consultant. After all, the white evangelical Christians who are Trump’s most loyal supporters, wax orgasmic at the evil machinations of their hero.

White Evangelicals Praise Trump’s Blasphemous Photo Op

Donald Trump craps on subtlety and nuance, when he panders to his white evangelical base he does so in an over-the-top way. Most Americans were shocked when Trump ordered police and military personnel to use tear gas and rubber bullets against peaceful protesters to clear the way so he could walk to a nearby historical church to stage a sacrilegious and blasphemous photo-op.

But when white evangelicals witnessed Trump brandishing a Bible, upside down, outside a church, they praised him as a crusader establishing God’s kingdom on Earth. We may have winced at the reality of an amoral buffoon using a Bible as a prop and a church as a backdrop to appeal to his gullible white evangelical base, they broke out in tongues at the heavenly vision of their orange messiah testifying to the supremacy of their faith.

Jesus said “my kingdom is not of this world”, and history chronicles that all attempts to create a peaceful theocracy culminate in brutal dictatorships. The national zeitgeist is striving for a secular democracy where all religions are respected, all races are treated with equality and people of all sexual orientations are allowed to be themselves.

Trump and his supporters are on the wrong side of democracy and demographics, they will never establish a theocracy, and they may not even win another presidential race.

We will survive the coronavirus pandemic, the metastatic cancer of racism and the Neanderthal Trumpism that is currently poisoning our democracy.

Trump is Wrong! White Evangelical Churches are as Essential as Soiled Underwear

“President Donald Trump said Friday that places of worship are essential and should open this weekend, threatening to override governors who have ordered churches, synagogues and mosques not to reopen in the coming days.

“Some governors have deemed liquor stores and abortion clinics as essential, but have left out churches and other houses of worship. It’s not right,” Trump said during impromptu remarks to reporters. ‘So I’m correcting this injustice and calling houses of worship essential. I call upon governors to allow our churches and places of worship to open right now.’”

NBC News

Some polls show that Donald Trump’s evangelical support is slipping, it’s not surprised that he felt compelled to personally read this proclamation from the White House Press Briefing Room.

Never mind that Trump has never considered houses of worship essential and the only times he attends church is on Christmas and Easter. Trump doesn’t have a history of donating money to build churches, but he has gone bankrupt building and operating casinos. The only buildings Trump finds essential are the one that bring in revenue for himself.

Never mind that Trump has no authority to override governors, it’s up to them to decide when places of worship and other buildings can open for business. Yes, I am implying that churches are places of business, no different than malls, and other revenue-producing businesses.

Never mind that most governors have relaxed their stay-at-home orders and most places of worship are already open subject to social distancing guidelines.

Never mind that evangelical megachurches are the very definition of non-essential enterprises, especially in the midst of a pandemic. These so-called houses of worship are spreading misinformation about the coronavirus and vehemently defending the commander-in-chief who has totally screwed up his response to the pandemic.

Evangelical churches are as essential as the buffoon false messiah they worship and we would be better off if these houses of Satan were closed during the pandemic.

Patriots, Including True Christians, Must Destroy Trump and His White Evangelical Followers

“Howard Stern claimed that President Trump actually despises his biggest supporters and the radio talk show host said he hates the people who voted for the commander-in-chief.

‘I don’t hate Donald,’ Stern said on his Sirius XM Radio show Tuesday, according to Newsweek. ‘I hate you for voting for him, for not having intelligence. For not being able to see what’s going on with the coronavirus, for not being able to see what the Justice Department is doing. I hate you, I don’t want you here.’”

New York Post

White evangelicals love and worship Donald Trump, their fealty and dedication to their false messiah is greater than their love for Jesus Christ.

Jesus has no love for white evangelicals who support Trump because they exalt and praise a short-fingered vulgarian whose speech, behavior and policies are diametrically opposed to his teachings.

And Trump has no love for white evangelicals, in fact he despises their stupidity, religiosity and family values.

When Trump takes a few days off he doesn’t seek the company of evangelicals, he goes to his golf resorts to fellowship with fellow millionaires and billionaires.

Jesus doesn’t commune with white evangelicals; he hates their hypocrisy and reprobate behavior. You won’t find the Spirit of Christ in evangelical megachurches, but you will find him in storefront churches where believers are thirsty for his Word.

Howard Stern may love Donald Trump but hate his followers, I hate Donald Trump and his followers.

It’s incumbent upon patriots, including true Christians, to kick Trump to the curb on November and to fight the racism, misogyny and intolerance of white evangelicals for the rest of their lives.

Evangelical Ignorance Isn’t Greater Than the Coronavirus

“An evangelical pastor died of COVID-19 just weeks after proudly showing off how packed his Virginia church was — and vowing to keep preaching unless I’m in jail or the hospital.”

The New York Post

Evangelicals are the scofflaws of religion, they often flout the law and science to not only their own detriment, but also society at large.

Bishop Gerald Glenn made a Hollywood production out of flouting the social distancing guidelines by commanding his flock to stand to prove how many were at his church service despite warnings against gatherings of more than ten people.

He vowed to keep preaching unless “I’m in jail or the hospital”, he failed to mention or the morgue. An evangelical isn’t immune to the coronavirus because he’s full of the Holy Ghost or himself, and Glenn has succumbed to the deadly virus.

The minister’s spouse has tested positive for the virus, and God only knows how many members of his congregation will fall victim as well. Unfortunately, these religious fanatics have placed their entire community at risk.

Glenn proudly boasted: I firmly believe that God is larger than this dreaded virus. You can quote me on that.

It’s interesting how evangelicals believe in an invisible deity who acts in mysterious ways, by their own admission, but fail to take seriously an invisible virus that acts in very predictable ways.

It’s no mystery how the virus spreads, and the only way to mitigate the death toll is by religiously washing your hands and practicing social distancing.

An irrational religion isn’t greater than the coronavirus, and you can quote me on that.

When the Coronavirus Pandemic Ends There Will be Less Tolerance for Evangelicals Who Endanger Public Health and Democracy

The coronavirus pandemic is a major test for the nations and religions of the world. This virulent disease tests the legitimacy of our faith: whether we act rationality in accordance with common sense and the advice of physicians, scientists and lawmakers and practice social distancing or we endanger the lives of our neighbors by congregating in our places of worship.

Most places of worship have abided by the laws instituted by governors and the advice of physicians not to congregate in crowds larger than ten people. However, there have been scofflaws, notably fundamentalist religious organizations, whether they be evangelical Christians, Orthodox Jews or conservative Muslims.

These selfish religious fanatics believe that their parochial beliefs supersede the laws of man, even those put in place to protect society in a pandemic. Proving once again that religion is the greatest threat to democracy, science and the rule of law.

Most churches, synagogues and mosques have opted to put the health and wellbeing of their communities over their desire to worship God together by streamlining their worship services without the congregation in attendance. I’m not especially religious, but I say “Amen!”,

Other churches hold drive-in services, which do not violate social distancing rules. Typically, the church has a raised platform for speakers, with attendees remaining in their parked cars to listen to the music and preaching through an FM transmitter.

It seems like a perfect compromise for conducting a religious service in the time of a pandemic, but in most of these drive-in services the attendees honk their cars in lieu of shouting “Amen” and thereby disturbing the peace of nearby residents. Proving once again that many people of faith have little respect or consideration for people who don’t share their beliefs.

The coronavirus pandemic has exposed the conflict between the rational requirements of health and science and the oftentimes irrational requirements of religion. When this pandemic ends there will be a realignment of social customs (no more handshakes?) and a reassessment of the role religion plays in society. There will be less tolerance for evangelicals who are an existential threat to democracy and public health. And to that I say: Amen!

We Must Defeat Trump and His Evangelical Base

President Donald Trump crouched behind a podium to mock Michael Bloomberg’s stature on Saturday — drawing roaring laughter from the crowd at the Conservative Political Action Conference in Maryland.

Trump was recounting the 5’7″ Democratic presidential candidate’s evisceration at his first debate in Las Vegas last week — specifically noting Elizabeth Warren’s sharp opening barbs directed at him.

New York Post

I will stipulate that billionaire Michael Bloomberg’s horrible debating skills elicit mockery and ridicule from even the kindest pundits and politicians.

Bit’s it’s Bloomberg’s charisma deficit and lack of rhetorical skills that make him a poor debaters, not his relatively short stature.

Leave it to the short-fingered vulgarian to take the low road, and crouch behind a podium to illustrate how the minuscule Mike appears when he’s on the stage debating.

The audience at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) erupted in laughter at Trump’s evil shenanigans, and need I remind you that God-fearing evangelicals were the majority at this gathering of far-right conservatives?

Trump knows his crowd well, and correctly surmised that the CPAC cultists thrive on humor that dehumanizes and ridicules anyone who isn’t a white born-again Christian.

Trump isn’t an aberration or an anomaly, he represents and is the standard bearer of white evangelicals who demonize, dehumanize and destroy liberals, feminists, minorities immigrants an everyone else who isn’t a white evangelical Christian.

It’s not enough to kick Trump out of office this November, we must expose and denounce white evangelicals until they are too afraid and embarrassed to publicly spout their religion-based bigotry.

Trump Rallies White Evangelicals by Expanding ‘Constitutional Prayer’ in Public Schools

And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.

Matthew 6:5

President Donald Trump marked “Religious Freedom Day” by signing an executive order expanding “Constitutional prayer” in public schools, his latest effort to shore up his white evangelical base with the general election just months away.

This executive action is emblematic of his tenure in office for the following reasons:

It illustrates how Trump represents his base, and will do anything to appease them, while ignoring communities that didn’t vote for him.

It once again drives home the point that the king of the white evangelicals issues executive decrees instead of working with Congress to establish laws that will withstand judicial scrutiny.

It demonstrates how Trump loves photo ops where he signs an executive order that is sometimes unconstitutional, and sometimes unnecessary. Although the Supreme Court banned school-sponsored prayer in public schools in a 1962 decision because it violated the First Amendment students are allowed to meet and pray on school grounds.

As long as there are students who haven’t studied for a test, and students who are afraid that their crush won’t accept their invitation to the prom there will be prayer in public schools.

But white evangelicals want their children to pray loudly and openly in the name of Jesus, never mind the sensibilities of atheist, Muslim and Jewish students.

Finally, it shows us that Trump is cognizant that the stench of impeachment won’t dissipate before the general election, and he will take desperate measures to shore up his base.

Let’s Save Our Democracy and Defeat White Evangelicals and Their False Messiah Donald Trump

When he was a real estate mogul Donald Trump made political contributions to politicians of both parties but mainly Democrats, including liberal icons Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.

Trump carefully cultivated an image as a playboy by dating movie stars, Playboy bunnies and porn stars.

Prior to Trump’s announcing his run for the presidency in 2015 no politician, theologian, or pundit would have predicted that he would be embraced by white evangelicals as their political savior.

In short, there was little in Trump’s decadent lifestyle to suggest that the real estate developer and reality TV star would enjoy a third career as the Republican champion of family values and religious liberty.

It’s 2020 and the morally degenerate and politically corrupt short-fingered vulgarian is embraced by white evangelicals more than ever, after three years of spewing vitriol on Twitter, making common cause with white nationalists, supporting dictators and generally acting like the antichrist.

Trump may have been a novice politician but he was a very cunning one and he realized that his surest path to the presidency was by cultivating an unholy alliance with white evangelicals. Other Republican politicians like Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush have won the presidency in no large part by pandering to the religious right, but Trump gave them more than just lip service. Trump is the evangelicals wet dream incarnate, he appointed two pro-life Supreme Court Justices, filled the federal courts with conservatives, surrounded himself with a God-fearing cabinet and gave Israel everything on their bucket list.

Is it any wonder that white evangelicals hail the morally repugnant Trump as God’s appointee on Earth and compare him to a Biblical king? Is it any wonder that Trump acts as if the Constitution doesn’t apply to him and he’s above the law, when he’s treated like a Messiah by his base?

Trump has been an out-of-control disaster in his first term, but if he survives impeachment and is re-elected, he will be vindicated and emboldened, and so uncontrollable that he may bring on Armageddon. It’s incumbent upon Americans of all political parties and all religions, including evangelicals who recognize Trump as an emissary of the devil, to save our democracy by doing everything in our power to defeat Trump. For God’s sake and our democracy’s sake vote for the Democratic presidential nominee in 2020.

Defending Trump Won’t Spark Revival in the Evangelical Movement, It Will Only Incur the Wrath of God

In a recent speech in Louisiana, President Donald Trump commended evangelicals for supporting him in the fraught contest over impeachment. He said church leaders were telling him that impeachment was fostering spiritual revival: ‘I got a call from the evangelical leaders the other day, a whole lot of them. They said the church has never been more energized as it is right now because of what they’re trying to do to our president,’ Trump said.”

The Dallas Morning News

Historically the Christian church has been revived when Christians renounce materialism and secularism, and return to the foundations of their faith: prayer, reading the Bible and proclaiming the Gospel.

There is never a political component to true revival, revival doesn’t emanate from Washington, D.C, but from churches, large and small, throughout the country returning to the basics of Christianity.

Anti-abortion judges appointed by the president, or laws bringing prayer back to school won’t spark revival. You can’t legislate morality or revival, revival is a spiritual manifestation, not a political movement.

The controversy over impeachment isn’t fostering a spiritual revival. Consider how absurd it is to argue that for Christians to defend a morally compromised, politically corrupt, racist, homophobic, greedy and serial sexual predator is going to foster spiritual revival in the American church.

If white evangelicals are serious about being spiritually energized, they will speak truth to power, and call upon Donald Trump to repent of his racism, xenophobia, misogyny, homophobia, corruption, and moral degeneracy.

Donald Trump to Evangelicals: ‘God is on our Side

Donald Trump is courting evangelicals following a scathing editorial in Christianity Today (CT).  The editor of the mainstream evangelical publication questioned whether evangelicals could justify supporting Trump given his grievous moral failings.

The CT essay is an aberration, the vast majority of white evangelicals are enthralled by their Orange Messiah, and Trump doesn’t have to worry about losing their support.

The short-fingered vulgarian is trying to expand his support beyond white evangelicals by speaking at a Hispanic megachurch in Florida, telling the congregation that “we have God on our side”.

The most successful con artists never doubt their ability to sell a bill of goods to anyone, and the amoral, greedy, serial sexual predator figures that if he was able to persuade white evangelicals that he’s the Second Coming, then he might even win over Hispanic evangelicals even though he’s blatantly anti-immigrant and anti-people of color.

Hispanic evangelicals who support the stable genius should be ostracized by real Christians and disowned by their Latino brothers and sisters.

Real Christians don’t worry whether or not the Almighty is on their side, they seek to be on God’s side by ministering to the prisoners, immigrants and the poor and homeless.

You don’t have to be a theologian to deduce that God isn’t on the side of Trump and his Republican sycophants. The enmity that Trump and white evangelicals harbor toward immigrants, people of color, and gays and Lesbians are anathema to the peace-loving, merciful and gracious Jesus of the Gospels.

White Evangelicals Have a Pragmatic and Transactional Relationship with Amoral Donald Trump

“Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr. is among the loudest public champions of President Trump, touting himself as the voice of the 81 percent of white evangelicals who voted for the president in 2016. Yet Falwell also says he’s never spoken to Trump about faith: ‘I’ve never talked to him about that in particular,’ he said in an interview with The Ringer.”

The Week

Evangelicals are so named because their main religious focus should be to evangelize, to share Jesus Christ with a lost and dying world, as they would put it.

But if you listen to the sermons of televangelists and read their publications you would get the impression that their main goals are to build quasi- Christian empires, attack gays and immigrants and promote the administration of Donald Trump.

White evangelicals have a pragmatic and transactional relationship with Trump, they don’t support him because he exemplifies the values of Jesus or because he shares their religious beliefs. They worship the short-fingered vulgarian because he doesn’t just give lip service to their pet causes, he’s kept his promise to appoint pro-life judges, declared war on immigrants and defend Israel right or wrong.

Jerry Falwell Jr, the president of Liberty University, acknowledged that he has never spoken to Trump about faith. It’s malpractice, or should I say heresy, for an evangelical leader not to try to lead an outwardly immoral and irreligious person to the Lord.

But of course, Falwell doesn’t care about Trump’s soul, he cares only that the stable genius shares his enmities, prejudices and policies. At least Falwell is more honest than his evangelical brethren who pretend that they support Trump because he’s a believer who’s been anointed by God to make America Great Again.

We shouldn’t think of white evangelicalism as a religious or spiritual movement that deserves our respect and admiration, but as a repressive conservative political group that merits our wrath and disgust.

Let’s deal a devastating blow to white evangelicals by voting to remove their False Messiah from office.

Whiner-in-Chief Trump and Whiny White Evangelicals Perfect Match

Donald Trump is the President of the United States and the Leader of the Free World. He’s a billionaire with a beautiful trophy wife, who spends most of his free time golfing in his golf resorts. He has millions of supporters who think his farts smell like expensive cologne and his illiterate and toxic tweets are akin to scripture.

You’d think he would be a happy and content man with a smile and a kind word for everyone he meets, but you’d be wrong. Trump is the whiner-in-chief, he’s not happy unless he’s complaining about something or someone. Trump whines about every perceived insult and has a ready insult for anyone unfortunate enough to cross paths with him.

Trump is the perfect president for the very imperfect white evangelicals who are in a constant state of aggrievement. White evangelicals have convinced themselves that they’re a persecuted minority, never mind that they live in a democracy where Christianity might as well be the state religion.

Instead of enjoying living in a country where they are free to practice their religion, and Judeo-Christian values are cherished, evangelicals constantly whine and complain that godless liberals are trying to ban Christmas, Mexican immigrants are taking away their jobs, and gays are trying to convert their children.

Trump sees himself as the Messiah of the white evangelicals, he argues that an attack against him is an attack against them, and he seeks to keep them in a constant state of agitation. He knows that the more his base is upset the more likely they are to go to the polls and vote for him.

Enough is enough! Let’s give Trump and his evangelical followers something to whine about, by voting him out of office in 2020.

White Evangelicals and White Supremacists are an Existential Threat to Democracy and Christianity

You don’t have to be a theologian or a political scientist to know why white evangelicals worship Donald Trump. They are enamored with the short-fingered vulgarian because he supports their divisive agenda, especially their obsessive crusades against abortion, immigration, and the LGBT community.

Allow me to digress by pointing out that the Bible is silent on the subject of abortion, and that Jesus Christ never even mentioned homosexuality. And as for immigration, the Bible contains numerous passages that exhort God’s people to treat the poor, immigrants and refugees with hospitality and respect. White evangelicals should read Leviticus 19:33-34, Jeremiah 7:5-7, Zechariah 7: 9-10 and Ezekiel 47:22.

Trump isn’t a Republican, conservative or a religious person, let alone an evangelical, but early on he figured out that he could win the presidency by pretending to be a conservative Republican who was evangelical-friendly. Unlike other Republican presidents like George W. Bush who are real evangelicals, Trump didn’t just pay lip service to their pet causes, he’s used the awesome power of the presidency to wage holy war against immigrants, gays and lesbians and he’s flooded the federal courts with radical pro-life judges.

It’s not surprising that Nazis and white nationalists share the same prejudices as white evangelicals, and that Trump is very sympathetic to white evangelicals and alt-right racists. Trump and his enablers, white evangelicals and white supremacists are an existential threat to democracy and true Christianity, and it’s incumbent upon patriots to fight these enemies of truth and liberty tooth and nail. Let’s deal a death blow to these fascists by kicking Trump out of office

White Trump-loving Evangelicals are an Abomination

White Trump-worshipping evangelicals are heretical Christians who have ruined the reputation of the worldwide evangelical movement. Many evangelicals eschew the label and identify themselves simply as “Christians” because they don’t want to associated with the racism, bigotry and theologian corruption of white evangelicals.

White evangelicals are enamored with Trump because they believe that his presidency comes from on high.  White evangelicals are a blight on Christianity and a cancer cluster that has devastated the Trump administration. Trump’s cabinet and staff is infested with evangelicals, and they never cease singing the praises of their False Messiah.

Rick Perry, the energy secretary, stated that Trump’s presidency was not merely the will of the people, but ordained of God. He believes that the Creator of the universe is active in the details of American politics. Perry’s God is the ultimate white hat hacker whose divine algorithms resulted in Trump’s victory.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, former press secretary, said that “God wanted Donald Trump to be president … that’s why he’s still there.” Mike Pompeo the Secretary of State said that God made Trump president to protect Israel from Iran.

Why are white evangelicals persuaded that the a holy, pure and righteous God ordained a corrupt, racist, greedy, ignorant sexual predator to be the Leader of the Free World? It doesn’t compute, it doesn’t make any theological sense.

White evangelicals are enamored with Trump because he has appointed two Supreme Court Justices who are fervently against abortion, and hundreds of conservative federal judges. They worship the amoral politician who is the antithesis of the teachings of Jesus Christ because he believes in deregulation, cutting taxes for the wealthy and is anti-LBGT.

In the eyes of white evangelicals Trump’s adherence to their narrow interpretation of scripture trumps his moral failings and utter lack of qualifications to be president and they will remain faithful to him to the detriment of their eternal souls.

Trump was elected by rednecks, racists and religious heretics, not by God. Americans, whether they’re Republican, Democrat or Independent, especially if they are Christians should do everything in their power to defeat the abomination who is destroying democracy and corrupting Christianity.

For What Shall it Profit an Evangelical if He Gains Political Power But Loses His Own Soul?

Donald Trump has been impeached, the ultimate rebuke of Congress on a corrupt, greedy, unethical and immoral president. But his evangelical base continues to treat him like a Rock God at his all-too-frequent political rallies.

It’s manifest that any thoughtful, reasonable and religious individual would discern that Trump’s three years in power has exposed him as too incompetent, unethical and intemperate to be the type of leader that will cause the Almighty to bless our country and lead citizens to listen to their better angels.

It’s self-evident, even to someone with only a rudimentary understanding of the Bible, that Trump is not fit to be the commander-in-chief responsible for making military decisions that may result in the death of hundreds of our soldiers.

Is the evangelicals’ Faustian bargain with the devil worth the nomination of federal judges that rule in favor of the wealthy, the elimination of regulations that harm the environment and tax cuts benefit the wealthy?

For what shall it profit an evangelical if he gains political power but loses his own soul?
