White Evangelicals Have a Pragmatic and Transactional Relationship with Amoral Donald Trump

“Liberty University President Jerry Falwell Jr. is among the loudest public champions of President Trump, touting himself as the voice of the 81 percent of white evangelicals who voted for the president in 2016. Yet Falwell also says he’s never spoken to Trump about faith: ‘I’ve never talked to him about that in particular,’ he said in an interview with The Ringer.”

The Week

Evangelicals are so named because their main religious focus should be to evangelize, to share Jesus Christ with a lost and dying world, as they would put it.

But if you listen to the sermons of televangelists and read their publications you would get the impression that their main goals are to build quasi- Christian empires, attack gays and immigrants and promote the administration of Donald Trump.

White evangelicals have a pragmatic and transactional relationship with Trump, they don’t support him because he exemplifies the values of Jesus or because he shares their religious beliefs. They worship the short-fingered vulgarian because he doesn’t just give lip service to their pet causes, he’s kept his promise to appoint pro-life judges, declared war on immigrants and defend Israel right or wrong.

Jerry Falwell Jr, the president of Liberty University, acknowledged that he has never spoken to Trump about faith. It’s malpractice, or should I say heresy, for an evangelical leader not to try to lead an outwardly immoral and irreligious person to the Lord.

But of course, Falwell doesn’t care about Trump’s soul, he cares only that the stable genius shares his enmities, prejudices and policies. At least Falwell is more honest than his evangelical brethren who pretend that they support Trump because he’s a believer who’s been anointed by God to make America Great Again.

We shouldn’t think of white evangelicalism as a religious or spiritual movement that deserves our respect and admiration, but as a repressive conservative political group that merits our wrath and disgust.

Let’s deal a devastating blow to white evangelicals by voting to remove their False Messiah from office.

Whiner-in-Chief Trump and Whiny White Evangelicals Perfect Match

Donald Trump is the President of the United States and the Leader of the Free World. He’s a billionaire with a beautiful trophy wife, who spends most of his free time golfing in his golf resorts. He has millions of supporters who think his farts smell like expensive cologne and his illiterate and toxic tweets are akin to scripture.

You’d think he would be a happy and content man with a smile and a kind word for everyone he meets, but you’d be wrong. Trump is the whiner-in-chief, he’s not happy unless he’s complaining about something or someone. Trump whines about every perceived insult and has a ready insult for anyone unfortunate enough to cross paths with him.

Trump is the perfect president for the very imperfect white evangelicals who are in a constant state of aggrievement. White evangelicals have convinced themselves that they’re a persecuted minority, never mind that they live in a democracy where Christianity might as well be the state religion.

Instead of enjoying living in a country where they are free to practice their religion, and Judeo-Christian values are cherished, evangelicals constantly whine and complain that godless liberals are trying to ban Christmas, Mexican immigrants are taking away their jobs, and gays are trying to convert their children.

Trump sees himself as the Messiah of the white evangelicals, he argues that an attack against him is an attack against them, and he seeks to keep them in a constant state of agitation. He knows that the more his base is upset the more likely they are to go to the polls and vote for him.

Enough is enough! Let’s give Trump and his evangelical followers something to whine about, by voting him out of office in 2020.

White Trump-loving Evangelicals are an Abomination

White Trump-worshipping evangelicals are heretical Christians who have ruined the reputation of the worldwide evangelical movement. Many evangelicals eschew the label and identify themselves simply as “Christians” because they don’t want to associated with the racism, bigotry and theologian corruption of white evangelicals.

White evangelicals are enamored with Trump because they believe that his presidency comes from on high.  White evangelicals are a blight on Christianity and a cancer cluster that has devastated the Trump administration. Trump’s cabinet and staff is infested with evangelicals, and they never cease singing the praises of their False Messiah.

Rick Perry, the energy secretary, stated that Trump’s presidency was not merely the will of the people, but ordained of God. He believes that the Creator of the universe is active in the details of American politics. Perry’s God is the ultimate white hat hacker whose divine algorithms resulted in Trump’s victory.

Sarah Huckabee Sanders, former press secretary, said that “God wanted Donald Trump to be president … that’s why he’s still there.” Mike Pompeo the Secretary of State said that God made Trump president to protect Israel from Iran.

Why are white evangelicals persuaded that the a holy, pure and righteous God ordained a corrupt, racist, greedy, ignorant sexual predator to be the Leader of the Free World? It doesn’t compute, it doesn’t make any theological sense.

White evangelicals are enamored with Trump because he has appointed two Supreme Court Justices who are fervently against abortion, and hundreds of conservative federal judges. They worship the amoral politician who is the antithesis of the teachings of Jesus Christ because he believes in deregulation, cutting taxes for the wealthy and is anti-LBGT.

In the eyes of white evangelicals Trump’s adherence to their narrow interpretation of scripture trumps his moral failings and utter lack of qualifications to be president and they will remain faithful to him to the detriment of their eternal souls.

Trump was elected by rednecks, racists and religious heretics, not by God. Americans, whether they’re Republican, Democrat or Independent, especially if they are Christians should do everything in their power to defeat the abomination who is destroying democracy and corrupting Christianity.

For What Shall it Profit an Evangelical if He Gains Political Power But Loses His Own Soul?

Donald Trump has been impeached, the ultimate rebuke of Congress on a corrupt, greedy, unethical and immoral president. But his evangelical base continues to treat him like a Rock God at his all-too-frequent political rallies.

It’s manifest that any thoughtful, reasonable and religious individual would discern that Trump’s three years in power has exposed him as too incompetent, unethical and intemperate to be the type of leader that will cause the Almighty to bless our country and lead citizens to listen to their better angels.

It’s self-evident, even to someone with only a rudimentary understanding of the Bible, that Trump is not fit to be the commander-in-chief responsible for making military decisions that may result in the death of hundreds of our soldiers.

Is the evangelicals’ Faustian bargain with the devil worth the nomination of federal judges that rule in favor of the wealthy, the elimination of regulations that harm the environment and tax cuts benefit the wealthy?

For what shall it profit an evangelical if he gains political power but loses his own soul?

Evangelical Magazine Christianity Today Says ‘Trump Should be Removed From Office’

“The evangelical magazine founded by the late Rev. Billy Graham published a surprising editorial Thursday calling for President Trump’s removal and describing him as “a near perfect example of a human being who is morally lost and confused.”

Whether Mr. Trump should be removed from office by the Senate or by popular vote next election—that is a matter of prudential judgment,’ said the piece, written by editor in chief Mark Galli. ‘That he should be removed, we believe, is not a matter of partisan loyalties but loyalty to the Creator of the Ten Commandments.’”

The Washington Post

Donald Trump was quick to respond to Christianity Today’s searing editorial on Twitter:

“A far left magazine, or very ‘progressive,’ as some would call it, which has been doing poorly and hasn’t been involved with the Billy Graham family for many years, Christianity Today, knows nothing about reading a perfect transcript of a routine phone call and would rather…..

have a Radical Left nonbeliever, who wants to take your religion & your guns, than Donald Trump as your President. No President has done more for the Evangelical community, and it’s not even close. You’ll not get anything from those Dems on stage. I won’t be reading ET again!

As usual Trump’s tweet was chock full of lies, typos and mischaracterizations. Christianity Today (CT) is not a far-left magazine, it’s a centrist evangelical publication.

The White House released a rough transcript or summary of the phone call between President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, and the call wasn’t routine, unless you consider bribery routine.

It’s not the editor of CT who knows nothing about reading, it’s the functionally-illiterate president of the United States who never reads. I doubt if he even read Galli’s editorial, one of his aides probably summarized the essay for him.

No president has done more to discredit the evangelical community than Trump, the unholy union between the short-fingered vulgarian and white evangelicals has tarnished the evangelical movement. Evangelicals justification of Trump’s racism, cruelty, misogyny, sexually predatory behavior and vulgarity has diminished their effectiveness as witnesses of Jesus Christ.

The CT article will have a minimal effect on white evangelicals’ infatuation with Trump, they simply don’t read intellectual religious journals. They are more likely to read Penthouse Forum or the online rant of an end time evangelist.

If Jesus Christ Himself wrote a new addition to the New Testament condemning the immorality and corruption of Trump, they would ignore it.

White Evangelicals Besotted With the Ultimate Narcissist, Donald Trump

At its mythic heart, narcissism is a story of disappointment. The ancient source is the Greek tale of Narcissus, a beautiful young boy who falls in love with his reflection in a pool. Captivated with his beguiling image, Narcissus vows never to leave the object of his desire. But the reflection—forever outside his embrace—fails to reciprocate, and as a result Narcissus melts away (in one version of the story), a victim of the passion burning inside of him. The lover’s inconsolable disappointment is that he cannot consummate his love for the reflection, his love for himself.

The Atlantic

Donald Trump is neither young nor handsome, he is a septuagenarian with an orange-tinged face whose most remarkable feature is a mouth that bears an uncanny resemblance to a sphincter.

However like Narcissus of Greek mythology Trump has fallen in love with his own reflection. When the orange troll asks the Magic Mirror, “Who is the fairest of them all”, like a true Trump sycophant the Magic Mirror answers:

“Sir you are the fairest of them all. You have the visage of a Greek god! Your powerful mighty hands hint at the awesome size of your phallus and your head is twice the size of a mere mortal for it houses a humongous brain.

Narcissists have many acquaintances but few friends. They are glib, witty, and charming, and they are always the life of the party. But life isn’t a party and narcissists soon wear out their welcome if you have to interact with them every day at work or at home.

Trump’s biographers agree that he has few, if any friends, but many acquaintances who are attracted by his power, wealth and outrageous behavior.

But Trump’s narcissism hasn’t worn thin with his base, there isn’t an unconstitutional policy, immoral behavior, vulgar tweet or vain boast that they won’t justify, excuse or forgive. This is incomprehensible and frustrating to the normal person who was sick and tired of Trump’s mean tweets, racist comments, and self-centered behavior after just a few weeks in office.

Why haven’t Trump’s evangelical supporters lost faith in him? These true believers would be repulsed by his vulgarity, stupidity and grotesqueness if he was a house guest for a week, but from afar the obese buffoon looks like a dashing and fearless slayer of liberals and godless heathen who has been anointed by God to save White America.

If there’s a God in heaven white evangelicals who support Trump will spend eternity in hell with their beloved false God.

White Evangelicals are Complicit With Racism, Misogyny, Homophobia and Nativism

To be a member of a white evangelical church is to be complicit with racism, misogyny, homophobia and nativism.

White Evangelicals embrace Trump’s racist slogan “Make America Great Again”, they pine for a bygone homogenized society where people of color live outside the gate in their ghettos.

They believe in a patriarchal society where women are second class citizens, obey their husbands, and are the primary caretakers of the children.

Evangelicals believe gays and lesbians are children of a lesser God, and intrinsically unfit to be a part of their congregation. From their warped interpretation of the Bible they conclude that homosexuality is the greatest sin, and if these zealots ever succeed in turning our democracy into a theocracy, they would put gays and lesbians to death.

Evangelicals are infected with nativism and they look down on immigrants and refugees as descendants of Cain. They ignore the many passages in Scripture that command believers to treat strangers with respect and dignity.

In short, the white evangelical Christian faith tradition is antithetical to genuine Christianity. I am a follower of the teachings of Jesus Christ, but I shun the evangelical label, and everything it represents.

I am not going to welcome white evangelicals back into the fold until they forsake their false Messiah, and once again embrace the humility, peace, and love of Jesus Christ.

It’s a Sin for White Evangelicals to Pray that God Protect Trump

“First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way.” — 1 Timothy 2:1-2

For generations Christians, including evangelicals, interpreted this admonition from the Apostle Paul as a directive to pray that their political leaders were guided by the wisdom of the Almighty. Even in authoritarian states where Christians were persecuted, they prayed that their dictators might bend to the will of God.

These prayers were uttered in the same spirit of a beauty queen contestant’s pontification on world peace during the interview segment of the beauty pageant. No one believes that a beauty queen’s soliloquy on peace will bend the moral arc of the universe toward peace and justice, and no Christian really believes that his supplications for political leaders will have an effect on their morality and adherence to Scripture.

But in the 1970’s with the rise of the Moral Majority, white evangelicals started to equate spirituality with the Republican Party, and instead of praying in a general sense for wisdom for political leaders, they prayed that the Congress and the president would uphold the family values of the GOP: anti-abortion, anti-women, and pro guns, a strong military and prayer in public schools.

Being pro-Republican is so ingrained in evangelical thinking that they now embrace a thrice married real estate huckster and serial sexual predator who became president by demonizing immigrants and palling around with white nationalists.

When white evangelicals intercede with the Almighty on behalf of Trump they don’t pray that he repent of his racism, intolerance and mean and petty ways, they pray that God would defend him from his enemies and bring his racist policies to fruition.

And they really believe in the efficacy of their prayers, they are persuaded that God is blessing their false Messiah, and his mission to make America Great Again.

We can be faithful to Paul’s teaching to pray for those in high positions without selling our souls to an extreme political ideology. Simply put: If a president’s policies and rhetoric are antithetical to the message of love and peace of the Gospels pray for his repentance, and if he rules with compassion and understanding, pray that God continues to bless him.

But thoughts and prayers and two bucks won’t get you a cup of coffee at Starbucks, vote the short-fingered vulgarian out of office in 2020.

It’s in White Evangelicals’ DNA to Worship Donald Trump

It’s axiomatic that white evangelicals worship Donald Trump, but let’s examine why this is the case:

White evangelical ministries, for the most part, aren’t hierarchical organizations like the Catholic Church where the local parish priest has to answer to his archbishop, cardinal and of course the infallible pope. Franklin Graham, Pat Robertson, Joel Osteen, Kenneth Copeland and Creflo Dollar aren’t restrained from their wildest impulses by a board of deacons, they answer only to themselves. They justify their most outlandish pontifications, by claiming that the Almighty is speaking through them.

It’s in white evangelicals’ DNA to worship an authoritarian figure like Trump, who disparages the coequal Judiciary and Congress and pretty much does damn well as he pleases.

Evangelical leaders aren’t challenged by their followers because they preach the inspired an infallible Word of God, never mind that Christianity is a Byzantium religion with thousands of denominations, each one with their own unique interpretation of scripture. Trump speaks with the authority of a televangelist, and his sycophants accept everything he says as the Gospel truth even though he’s a pathological liar.

Evangelicals have a binary world view: Christians and sinners. Likewise Trump supporters have a binary belief system: There’s them and then there’s everyone else: liberals, feminists, abortionists, homosexuals, globalists, climate change fanatics …

Evangelical ministers are prone to making crazy promises, “Give to my ministry and I will build the biggest cathedral, the largest university in the world”, all for the glory of God of course. “Give us your tithes and offerings and we will convert the heathen lands of China and Russia”! Trump supporters swallow the buffoon’s incredible claims like: I will build a beautiful 30-foot concrete wall from sea to shining sea.

Evangelical ministers strip their followers of their money and self-respect and in return provide them with a superficial faith that doesn’t sustain them in difficult times. Ditto Trump.

Franklin Graham Calls for ‘Special Day of Prayer’ to Protect Donald Trump

“Graham and 250 other Christian leaders are calling for Sunday, June 2, to be a ‘Special Day of Prayer for the President’ in hopes God will ‘protect, strengthen, embolden and direct’ Trump against his political foes.

President Trump’s enemies continue to try everything to destroy him, his family, and the presidency,’ Graham posted Sunday on Facebook.

‘In the history of our country, no president has been attacked as he has. I believe the only hope for him, and this nation, is God. This is a critical time for America. We’re on the edge of a precipice. Time is short. We need to pray for God to intervene. We need to ask God to protect, strengthen, encourage, and guide the President,’ said his post.”

Charlotte Observer

We are living in perilous times and it’s incumbent upon prophets of God to speak truth to power and condemn ruthless authoritarians like Kim Jong-un, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.

We need a man of God to stand in the breach and rail against the racism, homophobia, misogyny and xenophobia of the Trump administration. Someone like Nathan the prophet who confronted King David over his adulterous relationship with Bathsheba and the murder of her husband to cover-up the affair.

Evangelical leaders like Franklin Graham and Jerry Falwell Jr. speak out in no uncertain terms against the sexual immorality in Hollywood, but they give their false Messiah a mulligan for his myriad sexual indiscretions.

When Franklin and his ilk say they’re praying for Trump they don’t mean that they will pray that he will repent from his vulgarity, racism, intolerance and pettiness. They’re asking the Almighty to protect and strengthen Trump in his mission to Make America Great by demonizing immigrants, stripping away rights from transgender individuals, and appointed conservative judges who will overturn Roe vs Wade.

It’s blasphemous that white evangelicals are praying that the Supreme Being will protect the most evil American president in history, but at least we know that their thoughts and prayers have the efficacy of belches and farts.

I don’t know what I’ll be doing on June 2, I certainly won’t be praying for Trump but I know what I will be doing November 2020: voting for the Democrat who will face off against the fucking moron.

White Evangelical Hypocrites Aren’t Bothered When Trump Curses

It’s not surprising that a functional illiterate like Donald Trump has a penchant for using 4-letter words, you don’t have to consult a thesaurus when the stable genius is delivering a stump speech. Any middle school student can understand his speeches and appreciates his frequent use of profane language.

By all accounts Trump curses like a sailor on crack in private, and in public he can’t help himself from uttering obscenities, but lately his use of coarse language in public has increased, especially the use of “bullshit.”

During a recent speech to the National Association of Realtors in which Trump denied being in conflict with his advisers over Iran, he accused the media of making up sources for its reporting.

“There is no source, the person doesn’t exist, the person’s not alive. It’s bullshit, OK. It’s bullshit.”

The use of the swearword wasn’t s slip of the tongue, he repeated the epithet twice for emphasis.

There hasn’t been any outrage over Trump’s predilection for cursing from Republican leaders, even from ones who make a fetish out of “family values”.

Let me call bullshit on the hypocrisy of the GOP, can you imagine the outrage if President Barack Obama has uttered just one “bullshit” during a speech? The Republicans would have been all over him like white on rice; they would have accused him of demeaning the presidency and moral depravity. There would have been racially-tinged condemnations galore. I can imagine a Republican blowhard saying that you can take the boy out of the ghetto, but you can’t take the ghetto out of the boy, even though Obama has never lived in the inner city.

I call bullshit on the evangelicals condemnations of the corruption that they say emanates from Hollywood! Until they condemn their Orange Messiah for the filth that spews from his mouth, they can shut the fuc* up.

Homophobic White Evangelicals Are Dying Out! Praise the Lord!

“Nearly 60% of white evangelicals between 18 and 34 believe homosexuality should be accepted, according to a 2017 survey by the Pew Research Center. By contrast, about the same share of white evangelicals over 65 said homosexuality should be discouraged.”

USA TODAY

It’s axiomatic that white evangelicals are vehemently opposed to LGBTQ rights, for generations Republican politicians have used homosexuality as a wedge issue.

White evangelicals favorite refrain is that they hate the sin but love the sinner. Bullshit! It’s difficult for gays and lesbians to feel the love when they are cudgeled over the head with Old Testament verses, and televangelists rail against same-sex marriage.

It would be different if white evangelicals had the mindset that homosexuality went against their interpretation of the Bible, and they respected the fact that we live in a pluralistic society, and simply live and let live.

But the times they are a-changin’ as a notable poet once said, younger evangelicals live in a more religiously and culturally pluralistic environment, and they are much less prone to label their gay and transgender friends as perverts or hell-bound sinners.

It should be noted that most of the prominent white evangelical leaders are Generation X’ers and Baby Boomers, and many of the younger people in their congregations are less likely to share their homophobic views.

Evangelicals who were against were pro slavery and mixing of the races died out, and in a generation evangelicals who are fervently opposed to gay, lesbians and transgenders will die out.

But already the vast majority of Americans, including many white evangelicals, are accepting of same-sex marriage, and it’s incumbent upon us to vote against homophobia in 2020

Thank God There’s a Few White Evangelicals Who Distance Themselves From Mike Pence

Jesus Christ didn’t limit his outreach only to the poor, social outcasts and the disenfranchised who would be receptive to his message of love, understanding and redemption.

He also sought out the Pharisees and Sadducees, and berated them for their hypocrisy, self-righteousness and pride.

Vice President Mike Pence, an evangelical Christian, has agreed to be a commencement speaker only at Christian colleges and military academies who he feels would be receptive to his brand of conservative evangelical philosophy.

But there’s light shining even in the darkest citadels of white evangelicalism, when Taylor University, an evangelical school in rural Indiana, announced that Pence would speak at the commencement ceremony on May 18 hundreds of students immediately protested. Surely Pence thought that a white evangelical university in his home state of Indiana would be a safe place for his religious bigotry.

Alex Hoekstra the author of an online petition asking the university to disinvite Pence wrote:

“Inviting Vice President Pence to Taylor University and giving him a coveted platform for his political views makes our alumni, faculty, staff and current students complicit in the Trump-Pence Administration’s policies, which we believe are not consistent with the Christian ethic of love we hold dear.”

Indeed, any university, college or military academy that invites Pence to speak is complicit with the anti-Christian and anti-democratic views of Donald Trump.

Taylor University should honor Christ, disinvite Pence, and extend an invitation to Mayor Pete, a man who truly embodies the loving and humanitarian spirit of Jesus Christ.

Donald Trump Indulging in ‘God Talk’ to Pander to White Evangelicals

Donald Trump is consumed with expanding his business empire and burnishing his brand, and demeaning and ridiculing any perceived threats to his financial dynasty or his political power.

There is simply no room in Trump’s consciousness for God, a belief in a Creator isn’t congruent with his business model of winning by any means necessary. Although expressing a belief in the Biblical God is necessary to hold onto his evangelical base.

I give Trump credit for not pretending to be a devout Christian, he almost never mentions God, and he famously declared that he’s never asked the Supreme Being for forgiveness, because he’s never done anything wrong. Never mind that he commits the Seven Deadly Sins on an almost daily basis, and by all accounts he’s a moral degenerate.

Trump has never attended church regularly in his adult life, in fact the only time he darkens the doors of a church are on Christmas and Easter. Maybe if a white evangelical congregation names their church after Trump, he might attend church more regularly.

Recently Trump has started to invoke the name of God, religious rhetoric is creeping into his stump speeches that are still dominated by xenophobia, misogyny, racist dog whistles and just plain buffoonery.

On Thursday, Trump celebrated the National Day of Prayer at the White House, and he said the Almighty had helped him persevere through the ordeal of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation. Trump doesn’t drink or take illicit drugs, I imagine that what really helped him persevere through the ordeal of the Mueller investigation was hookers and hamburgers.

In that same speech Trump also said:

“One of the things that Mike and I were discussing just a little while ago—people are so proud to be using that beautiful word, God, and they’re using the word God again, and they’re not hiding from it. They’re not being told to take it down, and they’re not saying we can’t honor God. In God we trust. So important.”

Yeah, Right. It will be a cold day in hell when Trump discusses the Almighty with Pence. In fact, the only context in which Trump would discuss God with Pence is when he is admonishing on how to look at him when he is delivering a speech:

Listen Pence you holy rolling piece of shit! You’d better gaze at me adoringly while I’m speaking. Just pretend I’m your daddy or you’re freaking God!

So what’s up with Trump employing more God talk? Let’s just say that God didn’t help him persevere through the ordeal of the Mueller investigation, but invoking God is helping him deal with its aftermath. Throw in a few God is beautiful comments, and his evangelical base might be distracted from the finding of the Special Counsel’s report, namely that he obstructed justice and that his administration is a shit show.

Donald Trump the Elmer Gantry of Politics

Donald Trump is the Elmer Gantry of politics, only he isn`t hawking Jesus, he`s selling himself. Trump brags about his wealth, influence and power, and he behaves as if he isn`t subject to the rule of law, Republican heterodoxy or social mores.

Trump is an out-of-control narcissist who should be anathema to evangelicals, but miraculously he`s venerated as the Second Coming of Jesus Christ.

Elmer Gantry as portrayed by Burt Lancaster was Bible literate, and he knew just the right verses to loosen the purse strings of the hillbillies who attended his revival meetings.

Trump, on the other hand, isn`t well-versed in scripture, he probably uses his family Bible only to stash his copy of Penthouse in Two Corinthians. Trump mesmerizes his white evangelical base not by quoting scripture, but by appealing to their Biblically based enmity of gays and lesbians and powerful women. The more Trump rails against immigrants and feminists the more his white evangelical sycophants froth in religious fervor.

Trump makes wild and outlandish promises that even a snake oil salesman like Gantry would be too timid to utter, and he gets away with it. “I will build a beautiful 30-foot concrete wall from sea to sea and Mexico will pay for it!” Two years later and Trump`s vision of a grand wall that would be as imposing as the Great Wall of China has shrunk to a steel barrier that will be built on some critical sections of the border, and will be funded by taxpayers. And his deluded supporters sill chant “Promises Made, Promises Kept” at his campaign rallies.

Trump`s followers aren`t bothered by Trump`s ignorance, vindictiveness, crassness or impulsiveness, they are enthralled by his outrageous behavior. The more outrageous his rhetoric and behavior, the more they are convinced that he was anointed by God to Make America Great Again.

The movie Elmer Gantry ends with his church building destroyed by an accidentally caused fire, and congregants running away in panic. If only the Almighty would demonstrate his displeasure with the vulgar and racist Trump and his heretical white evangelical followers by unleashing a tornado on a Trump rally.

We Must Never Forgive or Forget Donald Trump and His Evangelical Enablers

Evangelical Darling

Donald Trump may escape impeachment, and he may even be reelected, but he will unquestionably go down in history as the worst president.

After two years in power Trump has done irreparable harm to our democracy, and he has diminished America`s power and influence in the world.

This too shall pass, and one of the darkest chapters in American history will end, but we must take pains to prevent another racist charlatan from making a mockery of our constitutional democracy.

Almost every educator, politician (of every party), theologian, journalist and historian will agree that the Trump administration has been an unqualified disaster.

But let`s not forget the roughly 40% of the electorate who has remained loyal to Trump through two years of racism, xenophobia, homophobia, misogyny and pathological lying.

Nothing Trump says or does, no matter how egregious and damaging to societal mores or constitutional norms can lessen the fervor that his evangelical base feels for him.

When our long national nightmare finally ends, and a normal president, regardless if he`s a Democrat or Republican, sits in the Oval Office we must not forget the wickedness of the white evangelicals who supported this moral degenerate.

Evangelicals cynically and ludicrously claim they`re persecuted even though they hold the highest positions of power in the Trump administration and Christianity is the most powerful and influential religion in this country.

It would be poetic justice if regular Americans turned on evangelicals and destroyed them hip and thigh, but that`s not the American way.

Evangelicals must pay a price for their treachery and deceit, we must tax their megachurches, expose their money grubbing televangelists, and teach in our public schools how Trump and the evangelicals undermined our democracy.

We must never forget or forgive the scandalous Trump administration, and we must never forget or forgive his sycophantic white evangelical enablers.

White Evangelicals are an Affront to God and Anathema to our Democracy

“The Bible, especially the King James Version, is great literature, a moral authority for a troubled world, and evangelicals consider is the inerrant Word of God.

Anybody who`s read the Bible will concur that it`s a literary masterpiece, and most Westerners will agree that it provides solid moral guidance, but most people don`t believe that it`s the literal Word of God because they are outraged that evangelicals have used scripture to justify racial segregation, misogyny and even slavery.

There are certain go-to Biblical verses that preachers spouted- the curse of Ham or the mark of Cain – to rationalize white superiority and even the slavery of blacks. Even today, especially in the South, evangelicals still use scripture to justify racial segregation.

It`s not the KKK member in full regalia that`s the greatest threat to our democracy, it`s the evangelical brandishing a Bible. Trump, a brazen unapologetic racist, has the support of thousands of KKK members and Nazis, but it`s the millions of evangelicals who put him in the White House.

The Trump administration is infested with evangelicals who hold views that are antithetical to a secular democracy. These evangelicals in Trump`s cabinet feel emboldened to proudly proclaim their homophobic, racist and misogynist views.

Take Karen Pence for example, she teaches at a Christian school that discriminates against gays and lesbians. Pence wraps herself in the Bible to defend her anti-gay views, and her teaching position in a virulently anti-gay school.

True Christians must reclaim their religion from the likes of Karen Pence; Jesus Christ the manifestation end embodiment of the Word of God preached tolerance, equality and peace, and he never uttered a single word against homosexuality.

II Timothy 2:5

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Biblical verses, taken out of context, can be used to justify everything from genocide to homophobia to the inferiority of women to slavery.

Religion shouldn`t be exempt from criticism and even ridicule, it`s incumbent upon Christians and non-Christians alike to criticize the white evangelicals who are making a mockery of Christianity and democracy.

This Christmas Curse Out a White Evangelical in the Name of Jesus Christ

White Evangelicals are evil

According to Christian tradition the seven deadly sins are: envy, gluttony, greed or avarice, lust, pride, sloth, and wrath. But white evangelicals, many of whom are obese, proud of their sanctimoniousness, envious of their more well-heeled mainline Protestant brethren, and angry with anyone who doesn`t worship Trump, think that sexual sin is the mother of all sin.

They consider a Christian, especially a woman, caught in sexual transgression the lowest form of sinner. They demonize gays and lesbians, and treat them like trash, even though Jesus Christ never condemned homosexuality, or even mentioned gays. Jesus apparently wasn`t bothered that people might think he was gay, because he spent every day and night during his ministry living with twelve male apostles.

About 80 percent of white evangelicals voted for Trump in 2016, and in spite of the Stormy Daniels scandal, and his affairs with other women of ill-repute there has been no erosion of support.

You won`t hear any televangelist or minister rail against Trump and his many sexual transgressions, and you won`t hear any layperson bemoan the short-fingered vulgarian`s sexual escapades.

White evangelicals frequently proclaim that the Bible tells us to pray for our leaders, and that we should pray for Trump. But they never pray for Trump to repent of his predatory sexual behavior, his greed and mean spirit, instead they pray that the Almighty would continue to bless him. As if God would bless an unrepentant sinner who takes pride in his sins, sexual or otherwise.

Damn Donald Trump and his white evangelical enablers, gays will sashay through the Pearly Gates while they will be greeted in hell by demons with an insatiable appetite for sodomizing religious hypocrites.

There is No War on Christmas! America is Besotted With Christmas! Merry Christmas!

Phony War on Christmas

America is still nominally a Christian nation, but the future is secular and based on science and algorithms, and the advent of Artificial Intelligence will eclipse faith in deities based on holy books.

But Christian beliefs and rituals still permeate our culture, and there in no nation on Earth where Christianity is more accepted and welcomed than America.

During the holiday season you can`t turn on the TV or radio, pick up a magazine or click on a Web site without being bombarded with a chorus of “Merry Christmas” and other tidings of religious expression.

But evangelicals, perhaps because they see secularism and other faiths gaining ground, claim that there`s a war on Christmas. The claim is preposterous and it requires a giant leap of faith and a keg of beer to believe and promulgate the conspiracy theory.

Donald Trump will do anything to cater to his evangelical base that elected him president, and therefore he has fashioned himself as the leading protector of Christmas.

Franklin Graham says that President Trump`s encouragement of Americans to publicly celebrate Christmas has emboldened people to fight back when the holiday is censored.

“When the president takes a stand like saying `Merry Christmas,` this emboldens others to take a stand just like the president`s… to fight back.”

Trump is a cross between the Grinch, Ebenezer Scrooge and Baby Huey, and the spectacle of the president as a crusader for Christmas makes me want to vomit.

Trump, Graham and white evangelicals can stuff their phony war on Christmas up their nether regions.

This white evangelical-hating liberal has no problem saying “Merry Christmas.” I wish all of my readers, of all religious persuasions, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Donald Trump and His White Evangelical Followers Make Me Vomit

Donald Trump campaign rallies are composed of racist rednecks, white evangelical reprobates, embittered blue-collar whites and a sprinkling of Uncle Toms and establishment Republicans.

At a campaign rally in Missouri, on the eve of the midterm elections, Trump`s stump speech was interrupted by first responders tending to a supporter who had feinted.

The crowd burst into a rendition of “Amazing Grace,” which might seem incongruous at a political rally, but not at a Trump event where everybody is familiar with arguably the best known hymn in Christianity.

Trump was forced to shut his trap, as he wandering aimlessly on the stage, pointing to the singing crowd, while privately thinking, “What a bunch of rubes.”

Needless to say Trump didn`t join in singing because Mr. Two Corinthians doesn`t know the words to the most popular hymn in the world.

This incident illustrates the symbiosis between the amoral short-fingered vulgarian and his white evangelical following. White evangelicals know damn well that Trump isn`t a moral person, let alone a born-again Christian, but they tolerate, and even rationalize, his corruption ,vulgarity and immorality as long as he continues to appoint conservative judges.

It`s certainly a testimony to God`s Amazing Grace that He didn`t smite that campaign rally with fire from above.

White Evangelicals a Threat to Our Nation! We Can’t Wait for God to Smite Them! We Must Act Now!

Documentary filmmaker Michael Moore posted the following meme to his Facebook page:

Rather than putting `Christ` back in `Christmas,` I`d settle for putting `Christ` back in `Christians.

The agitprop movie director has said and written a lot of provocative things in his career, but this meme is fairly tame and it recirculates every year during the Christmas season.

In this bitterly divided nation the left-wing filmmaker`s innocuous message has received a strong reaction on social media. The post has accumulated almost 40,000 likes, 10,000 shares and 1,000 comments.

Now it`s my turn to give you my two cent`s worth of commentary. I strongly agree with Moore`s sentiments, I`d settle for white evangelical Christians putting Christ back in Christians.

White evangelicals have so perverted Christianity that they should be labeled a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center. I don`t recognize the humility, mercy and compassion of Jesus Christ in the behavior of white evangelicals who demonize gays and lesbians, countenance racism and bigotry, treat women like second-class citizens and display seething hatred of immigrants and minorities.

I could never be persuaded to take up arms against al-Qaeda or ISIS in Afghanistan or Iraq, but I will gladly take up metaphorical arms against white evangelicals in America.

White evangelicals are the greatest threat to democracy and freedom and we can`t idly wait for the Almighty to smite these reprobates, it is incumbent upon us to wage war against them until their pernicious ideology is discredited and defeated.

I`m going to help put “Christ” back in “Christmas” by kicking these religious fascists to the curb.

Outrage: Franklin Graham Selling Pro-Trump T-Shirts at Billy Graham Library

“Now Franklin Graham is inviting evangelical Christians to wear their support for Donald Trump, America`s 45th president.

The North Carolina-based evangelist is selling “Pray for 45” T-shirts in the store at Charlotte`s Billy Graham Library.

It`s Graham`s answer to “Impeach 45″ T-shirts, baby clothes and Frisbees that were briefly advertised by third-party sellers on Walmart`s website.”

Charlotte Observer

Televangelists` stock-in-trade is selling ridiculous religious trinkets such as prayer cloths and anointing oil to their gullible followers.

Not to be outdone by his evangelical brethren, the Rev. Franklin Graham is selling “Pray for 45” T-shirts in the store at Charlotte`s Billy Graham Library.

Billy Graham must be rolling over in his grave at the idea of a T-shirt supporting a president who resembles the anti-Christ more than Jesus Christ being sold in a library named after him.

To add insult to injury the online ad for the profane T-shirts includes a pitch from the Bible.

Many sincere Christians pray for Trump regularly, they pray that he will turn from his wicked ways and embrace God. White evangelicals, on the other hand, pray that God will bless the most corrupt, racist and inept administration in history.

The store at the Billy Graham library should sell KKK pointy caps and dunce hats, they would go perfectly with the pro-Trump T-shirts.

Fake Christian Mike Pence Invites Fake Rabbi to Pray for Victims of Synagogue Massacre

“American Jews, in shock over the massacre of 11 people at a Pittsburgh synagogue, voiced outrage Tuesday after Vice President Mike Pence hosted an election event with a so-called `Christian rabbi`.

Pence took part late Monday in a campaign rally for Lena Epstein, a Jewish Republican running for the House of Representatives, in suburban Detroit, Michigan.

At the rally Loren Jacobs, who uses the title “rabbi” but espouses Christianity, was invited to speak on behalf of the area`s Jewish community.

Instead of opening up with prayers for the 11 Jews shot dead Saturday at the Tree of Life synagogue, Jacobs praised Jesus Christ and then offered prayers for four Republican candidates.”

Yahoo News

A “Christian Rabbi” is an oxymoron, kind of like an “Evangelical Christian.” American Jews were already in shock over the massacre of 11 people at a Pittsburgh synagogue, and Pence added insult to injury by asking a faux rabbi to pray for the victims at the end of the rally.

Pence referred to Loren Jacobs as a “leader of the Jewish community here in Michigan,” that`s akin to referring to Nation of Islam Minister Louis Farrakhan as a leader of the Islamic community in Chicago.

Jacobs is an apostate who is masquerading as a “Christian rabbi, he`s anathema to Jews.

Messianic Jews, such as Jacobs, primary focus is the conversion of Jews to Christianity. That is simply repugnant and offensive to Jews, he would be as welcome in a synagogue as a Jihadist imam would be at an evangelical church.

Pence and his white evangelical brethren have tarnished the Christian faith by wholeheartedly embracing a short-fingered vulgarian who makes a mockery of the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Not content with destroying the evangelical branch of Christianity, Pence is now sowing discord in the Jewish community.

There is a special place reserved in hell for the likes of Mike Pence and Loren Jacobs.

Dear God! How I Hate Donald Trump and White Evangelicals

“Perhaps the only subject Donald Trump likes to talk about as much as the almighty self is, well, Almighty God.

Need proof? At a White House `state-like dinner` for evangelical leaders in late August, President Trump spoke about `the glory of God` and the `power of prayer,` while promising that he would ensure America would `forever proudly remain one nation under God.` Trump has even indicated that God probably had a hand in the election, noting that such a victory `would require major help from God … and we got it!`”

Daily Beast

Donald Trump and his white evangelical base have done more to discredit Christianity than secularism or liberalism.

White evangelicals are so despised that a pay-per-view event featuring the likes of Jerry Falwell Jr. and Franklin Graham being fed to the lions would generate monster ratings and profits.

In his careers as a real estate mogul and as a reality star Trump never invoked the Almighty. Religious words weren`t in his lexicon, why even pretend to believe in a deity, when you think the world revolves around you?

But Trump won the election thanks to the unwavering support of white evangelicals, and now he has a penchant for invoking the Almighty to sate his base.

White evangelicals may cream their drawers when their Messiah mentions Jesus Christ, but normal folks recoil in disgust at such a vile and immoral creature waxing religious.

Sarah Palin condemned Obama for “palling around with terrorists,” but Trump pals around with white evangelical leaaders, and that`s infinity worse.

Americans will exact their revenge on the morally degenerate Trump in 2020, or God willing earlier via impeachment. But we won`t forget his enablers, and when sanity is restored and a Democrat is elected to the White House, look out white evangelicals.

We won`t seek Biblical revenge by smiting the bastards hip and thigh, but a Democratic administration will be more inclined to take away their tax exempt status.

Let me speak to white evangelicals in Trump-like fashion. Screw you religious a-holes, you have earned enmity that will last for generations to come.

Donald Trump and White Evangelicals: A Marriage Made in Hell

When Americans seek information about anything they google it, I googled “evangelicals” and these articles were in the top ten results:

White Evangelical Support for Trump Is Still Rock Solid – The Atlantic

Are these evangelicals ready to topple the idol of politics? – The Washington Post (The idol in the headline is a reference to Donald Trump)

The non-Trump evangelicals – Back to basics – The Economist

Trump`s Really Unpopular Outside the White Evangelical Pews – NYMag

Poll: white evangelical support for Trump is at an all-time high – Vox

Trump and the Evangelical Temptation – The Atlantic

Trumpism and white evangelicalism have become impossibly intertwined. White evangelicals have gone all in for Trump for immediate political gain, but their unholy alliance will damage their movement for generations to come.

I can`t emphasize enough that blind faith in Trump is a white phenomenon, non-white evangelicals aren`t enthralled by the orange pervert.

“A new survey released this week by PRRI, where I serve as the CEO, finds white evangelical support for Trump remains strikingly high, with 75 percent holding a favorable view of the president and only 22 percent holding an unfavorable view. This level of support far exceeds his favorability among all Americans, which is at 42 percent. Among all non-white evangelical Americans, Trump`s favorability is only 36 percent.”

The Atlantic

When the likes of a Jerry Falwell Jr. or a Franklin Graham make an outreach to minority communities their message is going to fall on deaf ears. A person of color isn`t going to want to hear the Gospel, or anything else, from a minister who supports a blatantly racist president.

Donald Trump and his sycophants in the white evangelical faith are anathema to people of color, whether they be evangelicals, Catholics, Jews, Muslims, or atheists.

White evangelicals have made a mockery of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, or to state it in a modern way: They have tarnished their brand name beyond redemption. As an Hispanic American when I hear white evangelicals praise Trump, I can`t help but think of Trump calling Mexican immigrants rapists.

We will never forgive Trump for his racism and misogyny, and we will never forgive white evangelicals for supporting such a moral degenerate.
