Elon Musk Doubles Down on His Nazi Salute

On January 21 Elon Musk performed a Nazi salute as a speaker on stage before Trump’s arrival on Washington’s Capital One arena. He made the Nazi salute with gusto and then turned around and repeated the gesture in the other direction.

Is there better way for a preliminary speaker at a MAGA rally to prepare the crowd for the racist-in-chief than to perform a Hitler salute? I do not think so, considering the Capital One arena erupted in cheers and jubilation when Musk made the execrable motion.

The MAGA loyalists defended Musk explaining that he’s autistic and prone to making awkward movements. If Musk makes the Nazi sign again while goosestepping will Trump’s supporters once again blame it on his autism?

Musk’s recent appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast made it clear that he knew exactly what he was doing when he made the Nazi salute. He told Rogan that his gesture, described by many as a Nazi salute, was “meant in the most positive spirit possible.” Musk incredulously claimed that he did not see the backlash coming, despite performing the vile gesture twice in Washington DC on Inauguration Day.

There is no way that a Nazi salute can ever be made in a positive spirt, and those of us who want to save our democracy from Trump, Musk and their minions must double down on calling out their racism.

It’s late 1930’s Germany again, and the Nazi salute is a harbinger of atrocities yet to come.

Wanker Found Guilty of Hate Crime After Making Video of Dog Giving Nazi Salute

“A man who filmed a pet dog giving Nazi salutes before putting the footage on YouTube has been convicted of committing a hate crime.

Mark Meechan, 30, recorded his girlfriend`s pug, Buddha, responding to statements such as `gas the Jews` and `Sieg Heil` by raising its paw.

But police were alerted and he was arrested for allegedly committing a hate crime.

The original clip had been viewed more than three million times on YouTube.”

In America there is a fascist mindset, especially in academia, that considers not just Nazi ideology but any conservative viewpoint hate speech that shouldn`t be protected under the First Amendment.

I`m more liberal than conservative, but I believe that even controversial conservative or libertarian trolls like Milo Yiannopoulos and Ann Coulter have a constitutionally-protected right to lecture in universities.

I find it abhorrent when televangelists demonize gays, politicians sing the praises of the NRA, and pundits promulgate the lie that Donald Trump is a great president, but all of these views deserve to be heard in a university campus, where diversity of thought should be the default mode of education.

In the UK and Europe we see what happens when unpopular speech is branded as “hate speech” and is treated as a crime.

To post a video on YouTube depicting a dog responding to statements such as “gas the Jews” and “Seig Heil” by raising its paw in a Nazi salute, is ridiculous, abhorrent, disgusting, and incomprehensibly cruel to the victims of Hitler`s Germany, but it shouldn`t be a crime.

A democracy will survive a professional agitator like Milo speaking in a university, and it will survive dozens of racist videos posted on YouTube.

A democracy has really gone to the dogs when a wanker is convicted for posting a silly, but patently racist video.

German Magazine Portrays Donald Trump Giving Nazi Salute

“A German magazine has portrayed President Donald Trump giving a Nazi salute on its latest front page.

Stern magazine mocked up the image of Trump performing the gesture while draped in the American flag for the cover of its Aug. 24 issue.

The magazine`s cover is the latest in a line of provocative anti-Trump front pages to appear since the president failed to fully condemn this month`s violent white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.”

If anyone can recognize the dangers of Nazi philosophy taking root in a democracy it`s the Germans, and they are appalled at Donald Trump`s embrace of White Nationalism.

Americans are aware that Trump`s toxic racism is doing incalculable harm to our democracy, but I don`t think most of us realize how much harm he`s doing to America`s reputation and standing in the world.

Stern`s cover is spot on, Trump drapes himself in patriotism and American supremacy while winking at the violent antics of White Nationalists. Nazi ideology is the antithesis of democracy, and it`s incumbent on the president to denounce it in no uncertain terms.

If America is to survive as a democracy we must hate Nazism as much as the Germans, and that means impeaching our racist president.
