Outrage! Hallmark Channel Pulls Zola Ad Featuring Brides Kissing

“Under pressure from a conservative advocacy group, The Hallmark Channel has pulled ads for a wedding-planning website that featured two brides kissing at the altar. The family-friendly network — which is in the midst of its heavily watched holiday programming — removed the ads because the controversy was a distraction, a spokesperson said in an interview Saturday.”

When you care enough to send the very best, you send a Hallmark card. A dollar store greeting card may suffice for an acquaintance, but when you want to commemorate a special day for a close friend or a family member the occasion demands the quality and excellence denoted by a Hallmark card.

There’s a Hallmark card for every occasion and holiday, but the next time a same-sex couple that I know is getting married, I will send them an American Greetings card, the world’s second largest greeting card producer behind Hallmark Cards.

The Hallmark Channel is a family-friendly cable network, and what can be more family friendly than a commercial featuring two beautiful brides kissing at the altar? Any marriage, whether opposite sex or same-sex, is an expression of love, commitment and trust, which should be the foundation of any family-oriented network.

I am outraged by the Hallmark Channel’s anti-family decision to pull the wholesome Zola ad, and I will register my displeasure by boycotting the Hallmark brand.
