Fascist Michael Flynn Wants to Establish a Christian Theocracy

At a far-right rally Michael Flynn uttered the following words which should terrify anyone who treasures our democracy:

“If we are going to have one nation under God which we must, we have to have one religion. One nation under God & one religion under God”

Flynn is the former national security advisor in the Trump administration who was pardoned early this year by the former president after pleading guilty to lying to the FBI.

I vehemently disagree with Flynn’s fascist declaration. No nation, least of all a democracy, should be under the thumb of any deity. It’s not the Bible, but the Constitution that unites our pluralistic society. Organized religion seeks only to destroy every secular institution and power structure that doesn’t bow down before their myths and superstitions.

Flynn and his ilk despise our democracy, and they seek to establish a theocracy for a white Christian minority. Imagine if a Muslim politician said:

We must have one nation under God, and we must have one religion. And that God is Allah and that religion is Islam.

Evangelicals would have their panties in a twist, and they demand that politician to be removed from office.

We must have one nation under the Constitution where every individual is free to worship his God, or no God.

Mike Lee Tweets His Hatred of Democracy

“Democracy isn’t the objective; liberty, peace, and prospefity are.  We want the human condition to flourish.  Rank democracy can thwart that.”

This tweet wasn’t posted by an authoritarian despot but by a United States senator who you’d think would be proudly proclaiming all the benefits of democracy.

This tweet is just oozing with contempt and disdain for American democracy. I would expect a Putin or a Kim Jong-un to dismiss our form of government as “rank democracy”, not a Republican senator who drapes himself in the American flag.

No senator, America isn’t a “rank” democracy, it’s a glorious democracy, a precious democracy, a supreme democracy.

Democracy is the objective; liberty, peace and prosperity for all Americans, not just for elitists who can’t spell the likes of Mike Lee.

Republicans have shown their true colors, they’re not interested in achieving a more perfect union and a democracy where everyone regardless of gender, religion, sexual orientation or race will thrive and prosper. They lust for fascism and theocracy.

Lee should be careful, because if Republicans succeed in turning our democracy into a theocracy, he would be an outcast just like immigrants, racial minorities, gays and lesbians and women. Lee is a Mormon and evangelicals consider the Church of Latter-Day Saints a cult.

Lee states that he wants the human condition to flourish, the human condition is to celebrate power and to demonize and oppress everyone who doesn’t belong to the elite class.

It’s democracy, and democracy alone that can lift us up from the human condition.

The citizens of the great state of Utah should demonstrate that they value democracy by voting Lee out of office.

Mike Pence Evangelical From Hell Will Turn America into a Theocracy

When Indiana Gov. Mike Pence accepted the Republican vice presidential nomination, he declared:

“I`m a Christian, a conservative, and a Republican, in that order.”

Since then he has repeated this refrain in interviews and speeches, he has warned us what kind of a president he will be, in the not unlikely event he succeeds Donald Trump prior to 2020.

Most Americans identify as “Christian,” but very few fit Pence`s definition of a Christian. Pence is an evangelical Christian, who doesn`t believe in evolution, women`s rights, human rights or science.

A person can be defined by what he hates: Martin Luther King, Jr hated racial discrimination and social injustice, Mother Teresa hated poverty and human suffering, and Pence hates gays and lesbians, science and educated women.

If Pence becomes president that doesn`t mean that his brand of Christianity will compel him to fight poverty, and seek racial harmony, his interpretation of Christianity will drive him to disenfranchise gays and lesbians, and turn back the clock on women`s rights.

Pence`s faith can`t abide abortion or homosexuality, but it will turn a blind eye to a corrupt and moral degenerate president as long as he continues to appoint far-right judges to the Supreme Court.

Pence is a Christian and a conservative, but he`s not a John McCain type conservative who believes in bipartisanship, and putting the good of the country above party. He`s a Freedom Caucus, Tea Party type conservative, who is willing to let the country go to hell in a handbasket for the sake of ideological purity.

Lastly, Pence is a Republican because that`s the only major party that welcomes Pharisees and scantimonious jerks.

Pence is Vice President because of the support of Paul Manafort, and he`s as complicit as Trump in the Russian collusion scandal, and we must impeach Trump and Pence.

My worst nightmare is Mike Pence being sworn in as president after Trump`s impeachment and declaring: I`m a Christian, a conservative, and a Republican, in that order
