Trump is a Terrorist and He Must be Impeached and Removed From Office

Donald Trump is a terrorist.

Trump has transformed the Republican Party from a conservative political organization with a platform of fiscal responsibility, a strong military, and family values into a cult of personality. The GOP did not roll out a new party platform ahead of the 2020 presidential race because their new platform is unquestioned loyalty to their false messiah. Trump is their platform, period.

The terrorist-in-chief kept Republican congressional leaders in line by threatening to primary them when they showed any signs of deviating from Trumpism. The slightest sign of dissent was immediately crushed with an angry tweet.

Trump didn’t have to threaten his evangelical base because they were already conditioned to blindly accept as gospel any nonsense uttered by their leaders. Trump never threatened them, he just kept them in line by feeding them a steady diet of the racism, homophobia and sexism that they thrive on.

Donald Trump’s incendiary and inflammatory words on January 6, 2020, a day that will leave in infamy, validated what some of us have been warning about for years: he is a terrorist, a tyrant and a traitor.

“We’re just not going to let that happen … And we fight. We fight like Hell and if you don’t fight like Hell, you’re not going to have a country anymore. … So we’re going to . . . walk down Pennsylvania Avenue … to the Capitol … and give our Republicans … the kind of pride and boldness that they need to take back our country.”

These are not the words of a statesman who has humbly accepted the verdict of the electorate, they are the words of a terrorist loser who wants to remain in power by violence and brute strength.

These were the marching orders of a tyrant instructing his followers to storm the Capitol and prevent Congress from certifying president-elect Joe Biden as the 46th President of the United Sates.

It’s only due to blind luck and the incompetence of the insurrectionists that Vice President Mike Pence, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and other congressional leaders weren’t murdered.

Trump is a terrorist and he and his band of terrorists must be dealt with as harshly as we deal with international terrorists. The rioters must be prosecuted to the full extent of the law and Trump must be impeached by the House and removed from office by the Senate.

Why Did So Many Hispanics Vote for an Unapologetic Racist Like Trump?

The Hispanic vote isn’t monolithic, for example Democrats expect to lose a sizable segment of the Cuban American and Venezuelan American electorate in Florida because these immigrants equate the Democratic Party with the socialism they fled from.

But liberals were shocked by the Latin support the racist-in-chief gained nationwide. For example, in 93-percent Hispanic Zapata County in Texas, he won by six percentage points while Hillary Clinton carried the county in 2016 by 33 percentage points.

Latinos viscerally feel the racism that emanates from the rhetoric and polices of Donald Trump, and are loathe to support a brazen racist, so why did so many Latinos vote for him?

As always Obama is spot on, there are a lot of evangelical Hispanics who voted against their own self-interest and voted for an unapologetic racist who separated children from their parents at the border and put them in cages as a deterrence against crossing the border illegally.

Too many evangelical Hispanics acted irrationally, illogically and immorally by voting for Trump because he’s a homophobe who appointed pro-life judges. Unfortunately, there’s a strong strain of homophobia in the Latin community and Trump’s disdain for gays and lesbian resonated with them, and overrode any concerns about his blatant racism.

The Jesus of Trump and his evangelical sycophants is not the Jesus of the Gospels, and their version of Christianity is not the Christianity of the New Testament. If Hispanic evangelicals, indeed if all evangelicals, abandoned their faux and heretical evangelical faith and embraced true Christianity they would never vote for an immoral and racist reprobate like Trump.

This is a typical Trump tweet, in that he lied outrageously and pandered to white evangelicals.

According to the Associated Press, Snopes, PolitiFact, CNN and every other news outlet, and not to mention the millions who saw the Democratic National Convention, the phrase “Under God” was not omitted from the recitations of the Pledge of Allegiance.

Although as a constitutional purist and strong believer in the separation of church and state, I wish it would have been omitted. Our democracy would be on a stronger footing if there weren’t so many hypocritical evangelical politicians invoking the name of God while they enact laws that benefit the wealthy and powerful, and harm the poor and disenfranchised.

In his toxic tweet Trump makes an explicit appeal for the votes of evangelical Christians, and the fact that he lied about the Democrats removing the phrase “Under God” from the pledge of allegiance, won’t diminish the love that they have for their false messiah. After all Trump has lied thousands of times during his tenure, and evangelicals consider his pathological deceit a charming and adorable quirk.

Trump can tell thousands of lies, cage undocumented children in cages, hold the Bible upside down in a photo-op and even kill someone in broad daylight on 5th avenue, and white evangelicals will still consider him the Second Coming of Christ.

White evangelicals are so obsessed with abortion and homosexuality that they are willfully blind to the sins of their sociopath messiah. Evangelicals have given Trump a dispensation to break the Ten Commandments every day, and twice on Sunday, as long as he continues to appoint pro-life judges and discriminate against gays and lesbians.

Remember evangelical Christians, indeed. For the love of God, I beseech voters to remember the godawful and loathsome evangelical Christians and their amoral false messiah. End the threat to true Christianity and democracy and kick Trump and his evangelical enablers to the curb this November.
