Trump Meets Mexico’s President and Doesn’t Bring Up the Subject of the Wall

Building a wall from coast to coast on our border with Mexico was Trump’s most consequential 2016 campaign promise and the defining issue of the first three years of his presidency. Trump not only promised that he, the master real estate developer would build the wall, but also that he the master negotiator would somehow cajole or intimidate Mexico to pay for it.

Trump has abjectly failed to build the wall and to have Mexico pay for it:

“On December 17, 2019, acting Commissioner of US Customs and Border Protection Mark Morgan stated that 93 miles of barriers has been built during the Trump administration; according to CBP figures, at least 90 miles of that replaced existing structures.”

Wikipedia

Trump has given up on his outlandish promise, evidenced by the fact that when he hosted Mexico’s recently elected President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador at the White House for the first time on Wednesday, he didn’t remind him that Mexico has yet to pay a dime towards his vanity project.

White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany said the subject didn’t come up when she was in the room. I’m not surprised, Trump didn’t want to risk having the Mexican leader tell him in no uncertain terms that Mexico wouldn’t pay for the damn wall.

Let’s not forget that Obrador’s predecessor, Enrique Peña Nieto, indignantly tweeted back in 2018:

Mexico will NEVER pay for a wall. Not now, not ever.”

Trump has less than a year left to wreak havoc, and I’m sorry to disappoint his racist base, but he’s not going to build the damn wall. In fact, he has replaced his fixation with the wall with an obsession with protecting Confederate monuments.

Amy Klobuchar Unable to Name the President of Mexico

Amy Klobuchar was stumped last week when asked by Telemundo if she could name the president of Mexico. ‘No,’ she said. Prompted with the same question, billionaire environmentalist Tom Steyer said, ‘I forget.’ Only Pete Buttigieg was able to name him.

Politico

The average person could be forgiven for being unable to name the president of Mexico. Klobuchar isn’t an average person, she’s a senator who’s running to be president of the United States. It’s unacceptable that she couldn’t name the president of Mexico, especially in an interview with Telemundo. You’d think she would have been properly prepped for the interview with the Spanish-language network by her staff.

At a CNN town hall in Las Vegas, Klobuchar tried to make amends by giving her greetings to President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, but the gringo incorrectly pronounced his first name as “Andre,”

Klobuchar ignorance exposes her disrespect for Mexico and Mexican-Americans, it’s no wonder that she has less than one percent support from the Hispanic population in the United States.

Mayor Pete Buttigieg whose name is mispronounced and misspelled by pundits and reporters on an almost daily basis, not only was able to name the president of Mexico, but he pronounced his name correctly.

As an Hispanic whose surname is routinely mispronounced and mangled, Mayor Pete has my respect and admiration, and most importantly he has my vote.

Mexicans Show Us How We Should Treat Politicians Like Trump Who Don’t Keep Their Promises

The mayor of a Mexican village is pressing attempted murder charges against locals who tied him to the back of a truck and dragged him through the streets for failing to deliver on an election pledge. Jorge Luis Escandon Hernandez, who managed to escape without any major injuries, also wants those responsible for the incident on Tuesday to be charged with abduction. According to national newspaper Excelsior, they are unhappy that he has failed to deliver on a campaign promise to repair an important local road.

Sky News

All politicians make grandiose and gratuitous promises, I.e. they lie their fool heads off to win elections. They can always bank on the electorate having a short memory, thus they are empowered to lie with impunity.

When a politician who made wild promises wins and he fails to enact any of his pledges, we usually give him a pass if he doesn’t turn out to be a total incompetent buffoon. It’s like when a prostitute promises the best fuc* of your life, but the nasty business is over in a couple of minutes because she yelled at you to hurry up. You’re disappointed, but you’re just glad you didn’t catch the clap and delighted that your wife didn’t catch you cheating.

I applaud the Mexican villagers for holding their mayor accountable, he failed to keep his promise to repair an important local road, and in a beautiful example of poetic justice they tied the lying bastard to the back of a truck and dragged him through that very same street for failing to deliver on his election pledge.

Donald Trump won over enough racists, white evangelicals and rednecks to win the election by promising to build a 30-foot wall from sea to shining sea, that Mexico would pay for. Trump’s base had wet dreams of Mexican rapists and gang bangers from El Salvador stopped in their tracks at the border by Trump’s magnificent wall.

Trump knew damn well that he would never build his damn wall, he considered the “build the wall” chant just a rhetorical device to rally his base. If Trump supporters had a lick of sense, which they don’t, they would wake up, smell the coffee, and tie Trump to the back of a pickup truck and drag him down Fifth Avenue.

Former Mexican President Vicente Fox is a Master at Trolling Donald Trump

Former Mexican President Vicente Fox is the undisputed master at trolling Donald Trump, he makes the likes of Rosie O`Donnell and Jimmy Kimmel look like rank amateurs in the art of getting under Trump`s orange skin.

On Good Friday (I realize Easter Week is over, but any Friday that Fox ridicules Trump is a Good Friday), he shared an image on Twitter of himself wearing a new Trump-trolling T-shirt. Click the link at the bottom of page.

The design depicts Trump as a baby who is building a wall from Lego bricks. There is a smoke symbol representing the stench emanating from his soiled diapers. Trump has a smug expression of his face, he`s oblivious that he stinks to high heaven. He`s just as oblivious that his wall is a fantasy that will never come to fruition.

The slogan on the shirt reads: Can`t Build a Wall if Your Hands are too Small! Not only are Trump`s hands too tiny to build a wall, but his brain is too small to conceptualize the herculean effort to build a $100 billion wall.

Fox has long ridiculed Trump`s promise to build a wall on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Viva Fox! You made my day, please continue to troll Trump, we hate him even more you hate the bastard.

Donald Trump Says Mexico Will ‘Absolutely’ Pay for Wall

“President Donald Trump is still insisting that he wants Mexico to pay for the wall he wants to erect on the U.S.-Mexico border.

Sitting next to Mexican President Enrique Pena Nieto at the G-20 summit in Germany, Trump told reporters Friday that he “absolutely” wants Mexico to fund the barrier. The pair made comments ahead of a bilateral meeting that included Trump`s top economic advisors.

Trump`s statement about the wall came in response to shouted questions from reporters after the leaders made statements, so it is unclear if Pena Nieto responded specifically to Trump`s wall comment.”

CNBC

During the election whenever Donald Trump wanted to elicit an enthusiastic response from a crowd he would promise to erect a wall between Mexico and the United States, and he would insist that Mexico would pay for it.

Since his election, every once in a while, Trump still makes perfunctory remarks about building the wall, but he has bigger fish to fry, namely trying to get his execrable health plan passed and dealing with all the Russia-related scandals.

Even his base knows that there`s a snowball`s chance in hell that the wall will be built, and and even slimmer chance that it will be financed by Mexico.

Mexico will erect a three inch phallic monument in honor of Trump before they pay for the damn wall. Trump is expending zero energy trying to get the wall built, but he doesn`t like admitting mistakes, and so he still pretends he`s serious about building it.

Trump should give up his pipe dream of building the wall, and focus on renegotiating NAFTA with the Mexican president.

Mexican Mayor Marries Magnificent Crocodile

“The mayor of a Mexican town married a crocodile as part of a centuries-old tradition to bring an abundant harvest to the fishing town.

Mayor Victor Aguilar of San Pedro Huamelula wed his reptilian bride Friday in a ceremony symbolizing the union of two indigenous groups, the Chontales and the Huaves.

The mayor in the wedding ceremony represents the Chontales prince, while the crocodile represents the Huale princess.”

UPI

My thoughts:

The hapless crocodile`s mouth was duct taped shut, if anybody`s trap should be taped shut it should be the politician`s.

crocodile A groom is supposed to love and trust his bride, it doesn`t show much trust when you tape your bride`s yapper shut.

I could care less if marrying a crocodile to bring good luck is an ancient indigenous tradition, it`s still animal cruelty. A crocodile isn`t a prop, and it`s inhumane to tape his jaws.

It`s appropriate that the mayor married a reptile, I trust a politician as much as I trust a crocodile.

I hope that whatever deities the mayor and the townspeople were trying to appease, will smite their village.

Mexicans Who Help Build Donald Trump’s Wall Are Traitors, Mexican Archdiocese Says

“Mexicans who help build President Donald Trumps planned border wall would be acting immorally and should be deemed traitors, the Catholic Archdiocese of Mexico said on Sunday, turning up the heat on a simmering dispute over the project.

In a provocative editorial, the country`s biggest Archdiocese sought to increase pressure on the government to take a tougher line on companies aiming to profit from the wall, which has strained relations between Trump and the Mexican government.

`Any company intending to invest in the wall of the fanatic Trump would be immoral, but above all, its shareholders and owners should be considered traitors to the homeland,` said the editorial in Desde la fe, the Archdiocese`s weekly publication.”

Huffington Post

Donald Trump has defamed Mexico frequently since his first day on the campaign trail. In his announcement speech he called Mexican immigrants rapists and criminals, and throughout his campaign he rallied his supporters by demonizing Mexicans.

Trump`s hatred of Mexicans is so deep that he even has animus towards Americans of Mexican descent. Trump called U. S. District Judge Gonzalo Curiel a “Mexican” who may be biased against him because of his ethnicity. Judge Curiel was born in the United States, and alleging that a citizen is incapable of performing his job because of his racial background is the very definition of racism.

The Catholic Archdiocese of Mexico is spot on, any Mexican who helps build the wall separating the United States from Mexico is a traitor to his homeland.

I would argue that any Mexican-American who supports Trump`s wall is a traitor to his racial heritage, and to the democratic principles of our great democracy.

We are a nation of immigrants, and I implore my fellow Americans of all ethnicities to join their Hispanic brothers and sisters in opposing Trump`s proposed wall.

The wall is an affront to the Almighty and to our democracy, and it`s incumbent upon all of us to fight against this abomination.
