Donald Trump announced Wednesday that he will hold his first rally since the coronavirus pandemic next Friday in Oklahoma and previewed that he plans to hold three more in swing states he won in 2016.
During an unannounced event at the White House, where he was surrounded by prominent black supporters, the president repeated that he wants to get back on the campaign trail in the style of holding his stadium-filling rallies.

In the 2016 presidential campaign MAGA rallies sustained and energized Trump, the short-fingered vulgarian thrived in the toxic atmosphere where he was worshiped for uttering racist, xenophobic and misogynist statements that disgusted and dismayed nonbelievers.
The virus of racism found fertile soil in MAGA rallies where ignorant rednecks, science-denying white evangelicals and militant white nationalists gathered to hear Trump’s Gospel of intolerance and bigotry.
Trump’s victory made racism socially-acceptable: Nazis and white supremacists felt emboldened to amp up their racism, and Karens who kept their racism on the downlow suddenly started calling the cops on blacks for doing everything from driving to walking their dogs to birdwatching.
Then an unarmed black citizen, George Floyd, was lynched in broad daylight by four cops, and the United States erupted in protest over the racism that Trump had nurtured and promulgated for the entirety of his tenure.
Now Trump is set to resume his MAGA rallies during a pandemic, there will be no social distancing, and nobody will be wearing a mask. These campaign events will be fertile ground for the coronavirus and for the virus of racism.
The electorate has had enough of Trump’s racism and ignorance surrounding the coronavirus and his blatant racism and ignorance of science will recoil anyone who hasn’t swallowed the Kool-Aid.
Trump will go down in defeat, and hopefully the Nazis and white supremacists will once again hide under rocks, and Karens won’t dare exploit their white privilege to harass African Americans.
