A Beer a Day Keeps the Doctor Away

“A pint of beer a day could help reduce the risk of having a stroke or developing cardiovascular disease, new research has found.

A study of 80,000 adults found the natural decline in high-density lipoprotein (HDL), or “good” cholesterol, in the body was slowed by a moderate intake of alcohol.

The results showed that one or two daily servings of alcohol for a man, or up to one for a woman, was associated with a slower HDL decline than either not drinking at all, or drinking too heavily”

We’re all familiar with the axiom “an apple a day keeps the doctor away”, and while it’s certainly true that an apple is a delicious fruit that provides a moderate content of dietary fiber, it does nothing to improve your psychological health.

With Trump in the White House and ISIS threatening to wreak  havoc in America we need something more than just an apple a day to maintain our psychological and spiritual well-being.

I prefer a pint or two of beer over a barrel of apples, a healthy beer buzz while watching the evening news will prevent me from suffering a stroke or a heart attack.

The world may be going to hell in a handbasket, but I’ll survive as long as I have my daily intake of beer.
